Bonkey's Ice Cream & Snoballs — Restaurant in Stewartstown

This is the best quality ice cream I have had in a long time. The ingredients are fresh and plentiful. A little pricey but well worth it. My only issue is the staff, but I do understand that this is a difficult time to obtain and retain staffing. In these times where cleanliness is paramount, the team member who takes your order places the packaging of your ice cream, I.e. cups, cone paper wraps, etc., face down on the counter, after they write what you ordered on them, which will touch your ice cream. I really don’t want what is on those counters in my ice cream. I have to ask the person who takes the order not to do that every time. Before COVID the same person took your order, made it and delivered it, so the packaging was clean and never placed anywhere. Great ice cream to visit with a lot of different flavors and varieties! Love the taste. The place is physically small, so there is a lot of potential be very busy and very packed. The prices are typical and expected nothing to surprise there. Parking is, however, minimal and often times it is difficult to park your car anywhere near there. Last issue is is that they are cash only. I can understand not taking credit cards and paying the fees, however, that limits their clientele that they can really take and I think they could be making more money with by taking credit cards. I live on the eastern shore of Maryland and anytime I'm up in stewartstown to visit the in laws, we always stop at summers! Such friendly staff, very welcoming, especially when we bring in the large crowd! The ice cream is always wonderful!!! And I love the large assortment of flavors for both ice cream and especially snowballs! They will accommodate any mixture of flavors. The milkshakes are always wonderful.
