The menu is strictly what you'd expect from a bare- bones take out Chinese restaurant, but I wasn't impressed even with that in mind. The food is pretty mediocre; the ingredients didn't seem particularly fresh, plentiful, or beyond low quality and everything we ordered was really, really bland. I spent over $50 on my order, plus tip (should've skipped that since there was literally no service involved), and I was really disappointed with everything. My order was incorrect, and I didn't catch it until I was home, so shame on me.
The thing that REALLY bothered me though is the actual restaurant. It's so run-down, poorly lit, and everything looks dirty, old, and/or depressing. To state the obvious: I don't even want to think about the kitchen. I saw about 15 health code violations just standing there, not kidding. There's no way I'd sit down to eat (in fact, I don't know if there was even a table in the place). The atmosphere of the place reminded me of a sketchy convenience store, complete with a fully enclosed counter area with sliding window (which of course was disgustingly dirty, too). I don't understand the good reviews for this place, other than they've got a captive audience with Stewartstown and its limited dining options. Next time? No thanks, I don't mind driving farther for better food and a cleaner...
Read moreBuilding: the building seemed fairly standard for a small shopping area. However, it did seem rundown on the inside. Service: the service was fairly fast and friendly I only had to wait a few minutes for my food. Food: here is where they lose 2 stars for me. I ordered a fairly standard dish one of my favorites, shrimp Lo main and general tso's chicken. When I got I home I ate some of the food and in my personal opinion it was not very good, the noodles were overcooked and did not hold a lot of flavor and the chicken seemed to match. The chicken was not very good and does not taste like more traditional general tso's chicken, it did not taste very good.
Price: the price for what I got seemed a little much with my bill coming out to around $20.
In conclusion I do not plan on returning, I just feel let down...
