Cindy's Cafe — Restaurant in Stockbridge

This is a good option for a quick pre-concert dinner, albeit a bit overpriced for what you get (and how it’s served). It’s buffet style, they offer a large salad bar, soup, fries/burger station and the night we were there an Asian noodle/rice station. Also multiple pre-packaged deserts/fruit and lots of drinks, cold and hot. There’s inside and outside seating - we really liked the outdoor seating and views of the grounds. Checkout was quick and Ozawa Hall is very close, best parking is in the east lot. My main complaint is the heaps of garbage this place produces. Why not use proper plates and cutlery? If you manage to construct a place that is looking this nice surely it must be possible to acquire a dishwasher and serve food on proper plates. For me the heaps of recyclable trays/bowls/plates and plastic cups, cutlery and containers greatly diminished the experience and don’t justify the prices. This restaurant only offers a very limited buffet. The food is not terrible, but at $65 per person, it’s several hundred percent more expensive than the food is worth (for example, tough Sirloin roast rather than actual tenderloin). Options are very limited - only a salad to start, one meat/fowl/fish, one veg, one potato. It’s really just dining hall food. As bad as that was, the service just doesn’t exist. We waited 30 minutes for our drink order and I was served 1 ounce of wine in a filthy used glass, another was served a vodka tonic with maybe a splash of vodka, 8 ounces of tonic and no ice. Asked 5 people for a check and waited 30 minutes to get it, we’re almost late for the performance. 18% gratuity was included in check despite total lack of service. Total check for 4 was over $360. I’m struggling with this review. I could maybe do 4 stars, maybe, but more in the service later. It’s basically chicken fingers, fries and burgers. They also have a salad bar that was the best part. I built a $28 salad.

Service is questionable at best. No real order or system. We saw at least one person order food, wait patiently only to have someone else take their order. Ambience is nice but you can’t hear the show from the outside seating. Why aren’t there speakers??? The more I think I think 3 stars is...
