SDK'S Cafe and Coffee — Restaurant in Stockbridge

Here For It! I arrived at my mother’s house this passing Friday for a Mother’s Day weekend. I was good and hung over and she took one look at me and said ‘chile, come on, there’s a new coffee spot up the street.’ So off we went. I grew up in this area and my mother has lived in that house off Jodeco for 20 years. We were very excited to see that black owned business pop up. The interior is nice and clean and spacious. There’s plenty of seating and a pretty nicely sized menu with almond, soy, and whole milk options. In my later years(last two years as I’m 33) the animal milks don’t agree with me so I was very excited that they were accommodating. It didn’t take long at all for us to get our orders back but while we were there there were several people that already seemed like regulars sitting around and talking with neighbors. I just adored that ‘friends’ coffee shop sort of feel. My mother was in the military and she struck up a conversation with a gentleman that thanked her for her service while he sat leisurely beside the door. He made small talk with a mother that was dropping her daughter off at gymnastics. The barista made a couple jokes with me about my previous evening. It was almost a familial feeling. The coffee was Great! Nice size, excellent beans and blend. I really enjoyed it. But the ambiance of ‘everybody knows your name’ without a lick of hooch in the joint was endearing. I hope you all thrive and people see the value in you even though the area is developing. I will definitely be back as my mother has an affinity for it as well now....

A Hidden Gem in McDonough!

Last Thursday, I had the pleasure of visiting the new SDK’s Cafe and Coffee, and let me just say—it did not disappoint! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by how clean and organized the space was. The vibe was inviting, and the staff? Absolutely lovely.

I kicked off my visit with an Iced Chai Tea Latte that was divine. It had just the right balance of spices and sweetness. For my meal, I opted for the avocado toast with added egg and tomato—pure perfection. Bonus points for the hot sauce packets! I like my avocado toast with a bit of a kick.

Being the juice enthusiast I am, I couldn’t resist sampling some of their juice options. Fresh and flavorful, they didn’t let me down. But the real showstopper? The banana nut bread muffin. So good, I had to get another one to take home to my mom, who’s recovering from knee replacement surgery. The staff, being the sweethearts they are, gave me an extra muffin for her, on the house. Talk about going above and beyond!

The cafe itself is a haven for remote workers like me. Plenty of seats, tables, and outlets—a dream setup for anyone looking to get some work done while sipping on something delicious. Their menu is also impressive, with a variety of coffee, teas, and breakfast sandwiches that I can’t wait to try on my next visit.

As a McDonough resident for 30 years, it’s a joy to discover a new "mom n' pop" style place like SDK’s Cafe and Coffee. It’s a fantastic addition to the neighborhood, and I’ll definitely be back soon....

OMG!!!!! OMG OMG OMG!!!! WHEN I SAYYYYYYY today was one of those days I thought I was in control of my schedule but instead I was glued to the computer-SO when I called at 2:50pm to see if they would still let me order if I got there in 5 (read: 7) minutes even though they close at 3:00pm and they told me to come on, I almost screamed! I promised on the phone I would just get a coffee and not the pizza bagel I’d been drooling over all day….but when I got there at 2:57 they opened the door for me and asked me which coffee and pizza bagel I wanted noooo, I’m not crying right now🥹! If it wasn’t official yet—it is now—I’ve got a new favorite coffee shop!!

But seriously, not only is the service amazing, the ambiance is great, and the food and drinks are delicious!!! I haven’t had anything I haven’t loved and I’ve tried several different things on the menu so far. I’ve hung out to work for hours at a time or met up with a friend. I’ve laughed with regulars and played games with my girlfriend. And I’ve only ever felt welcome! Which makes the food and drinks that much more enjoyable honestly!

Thank you guys SO MUCH for bringing such a special place to the community!! SDK’s Cafe & Coffee literally has everything you need for an energy boost and a tasty treat!! Don’t overthink it and do...
