I had a craving for Filipino food so I stopped in for take out. It has been a long time since I've eaten food from here, so I thought I'd give it a try.
I tried the pinapaitan (beef and tripe in a sour soup), kaldereta (a stew of beef or goat cooked with potatoes, bell peppers, and tomato sauce), and pancit (noodles cooked with pork and veggies similar to lo mein). The pinapaitan was average. The meat was well cooked, however there was nothing sour or tangy about it. The kaldereta was made with goat, which I didn't expect. Read moreThis restaurant is more accessable than the other filipino restaurants. They have staple dishes they cook everyday and I think they have 2 or 3 dishes that they change everyday (special for the day). The staple ones are pancit, adobo, tagalog pinapaitan, dinuguan, pinakbet, lechon kawali, fried mackerel/tilapia, sinigang (fish/pork/beef), and some appetizers just to name a few. Also the other half of the place is a mini grocery area. The only thing I do not like is the palabok, I think they do not use the palabok mix that's why it is bland even if its combined with tinapa /chicharon. It might just be me but give it a try if you want. Its the thick noodles not the skinny ones like...
