I am extremely disappointed in this restaurant. We sat at the sushi bar, as I do at ALL new sushi places, to scope out the freshness of the fish. The fish was certainly fresh, so thumbs up there. I specifically asked the server if they served their hot green tea in CERAMIC or PLASTIC cups. She said "I think they're ceramic." Apparently their employees aren't very well educated since she gave me a crappy plastic cup and a big, nasty tea bag sitting in it. I hate the taste of hot liquids in plastic... because it tastes like plastic. Thanks for charging me for something I hate. All plates/saucers etc. were also plastic. Invest in some REAL dinnerware. We ordered 3 rolls, SPECIFICALLY that said they did not have spicy sauce on them because I'm allergic to Siracha (it makes my stomach swell, very painful) and I know from working at sushi restaurants that Siracha is the spicy in the spicy sauces. We got our 3 "no spicy" rolls and they were COVERED in what i knew was siracha mayo. I asked the waitress "none of these said they had spicy sauce" "they don't" "then what is this orange sauce?" "siracha mayo" THAT IS SPICY SAUCE. Again, I am pummeled by a lack of intellect. We had to send them back and wait another 20-30 minutes for our food because the menu said NOTHING about it being smothered in siracha. SOME PEOPLE HAVE ALLERGIES OR IBS AND NEED TO KNOW THESE THINGS. I find it very negligent on the restaurant's part to put it as THEIR opinion of "spicy" instead of knowing that siracha is a spicy sauce. It showed me that they knew their rolls lacked flavor and weren't willing to modify them to improve the flavor to lose dependency on a strong, store-bought sauce. The rolls were.... acceptable. Not bad, but by far not the worst I've ever had. Service was nice and accommodating, but they need to update their menu to say that they can't make good enough sushi to stand on its own and have to drown...
Read moreWe ordered three take out dinners it cost over $100!!! The soup was ice cold and I asked for extra sauce and got 4 sauces for three Dinners. While I understand prices have gone up everywhere I would expect to get quality food. Cold soup and a salad with literally three pieces of lettuce is not acceptable. I mean the soup was ice cold!! You could even feel thru the container that it was cold so why would the person bagging the food think it’s ok to sell that to a customer??? In addition I didn’t want vegetables with my dinner and requested they replace with rice. They charged me $2 extra for no vegetables. Are you kidding me?? So if I asked for no veggies and no extra rice to replace the veggies would you adjust the price downward for not getting veggies? I bet you wouldn’t. So you shouldn’t be charging extra if I ask for rice instead of vegetables. This is horrible business. Especially since you already charge $2 for garlic fried rice instead of regular rice when it’s just garlic butter you add to it. Certainly not $2 worth! I’m very disappointed and was going to call to talk to the manager but they were already closed for the night. Please don’t serve cold soup to people and at least fill up your salad container. My goodness it’s only lettuce, there literally is nothing else in the salad but iceberg lettuce. I have been a long time customer and this is so disheartening. It will be a long time before I eat here...
Read moreI had a bad experience. I normally don't like to complain but the service was so bad, I just had to bring it up to the manager. The server needed more training before serving customers. We sat at a table because hibachi seating was full. Normally miso soup and salad is brought out first before the meal after ordering. Our meal came out first and it was cold. I was never asked how I wanted my steak but they cooked It well done. I didn't realize I wasn't asked till I looked at my steak. So needless to say it was dry and chewy. We mentioned to our server the fact that we never got our salads. She quickly went and brought us 4 salads since at this point didn't want our soups. The lettuce in the salads had signs of turning brown on the edges. I wasn't going to say anything but there were too many mistakes, I just had to. I first paid our bill of $85 plus a tip. Although the service was bad, she still did provide a service, that was worth something. After explaining our displeasure to the manager, she gave us a $15 gift card. I might have to consider other Japanese restaurants...
