I would leave 0 stars if possible.
I went for a birthday dinner in a party of 2 on a Saturday night. All the rolls tasted the same with similar toppings, just different renditions. It seemed like I needed a GPS to find and flag my server Megan, when I needed to place my order or for anything else as far as I was concerned.
Appetizer order ready, where's Megan? I need more water, where's Megan? I need more condiments to go with my meal, where's Megan?
At least the hostess Maria was kind enough to recognize me as a person and not another table number.
I ordered 1 grilled squid, 1 red dragon roll as the appetizer. 1 Klondike, 1 spicy crunchy scallop roll, 1 chili spider salmon roll. I had tickets to go to an event immediately after done eating, where's Megan with my tab?
I'm in a rush to pay and leave, tip whatever I thought was fair for the lackluster service (because I too have worked as a server) and come to double check the tab was charged for duplicate rolls I never received.
It came out to include 2 Klondike, 2 spicy crunchy scallop, and 2 chili spider salmon.
Maybe the staff members got hungry, Tammy sure did say they're a busy restaurant.
I even tried calling the next day (the day after because for some reason they're closed Sunday) to report it to management and Tammy, who repeated her name every other sentence promised she would investigate with her staff members if the items were actually received with a call back a day later; nearly 48 hours later, nothing.
Happy to spread the consumer caution and file a dispute with my bank, Tammy. Who in their right mind would order 7 rolls (nearly 70 pieces of sushi) to split amongst only 2 people, Tammy?
The consumer is always right in the restaurant industry, because we dictate your service hours, we dictate your staffing budget, and ultimately we pay your bills.
If you're looking for delicious sushi and attentive service, you've come to the wrong place; look elsewhere.
Your server might duplicate your order if you're not paying attention carefully. Someone needs to relearn their point of sale system. Don't be a victim of Megan's mistakes.
Such a pathetic excuse of service AND management. There's no Cocoro in anyone's level of service, even the self proclaimed manager/ co-owner,...
Read moreVisited Cocoro Bistro tonight while on a work trip to Stockton. We arrived at 6:15 and our party of 3 was sat right away, no need for a reservation. Very nice! We did however have to wait until 6:55 to place our orders and this was after having to flag down our waitress. She admitted that she forgot. I was only concerned about ordering because they close down at 8! Accidents happen, I understand. The food totally made up for any shortcomings in service though. The Agadashi Tofu is a must try! The rainbow roll is one of the best I’ve ever had and the sushi chefs slice the pieces thin so they are perfectly bite sized. The soft shell crab tempura was good if you like soft shell crab. I find it’s not for me but I can see how others would like it. The 3 Ways roll pretty good and the grilled edamame is perfect for a spice lover! The prices were on point as well. For the soft shell crab tempura, rainbow roll, tofu agadashi, and a to go Dill Salmon roll the bill came out to $51. Not bad. I’ve paid more for much lower quality sushi at other restaurants. I would visit this establishment again and I recommend...

To our surprise they did not have the dish. Yes 3 of us were going to all order the same thing.. Beef wrapped Asparagus. 😉 Waiter apologized, was patient and helpful throughout the dinner. We ordered salad, wings, soft shell crab, two types of ramen, teriyaki steak, potstickers, sashimi, the spicy red dragon, the oh wow, and four other types of sushi. Flavors are phenomenal. We were all passing our food around sharing laughing having a good time. I love that a restaurant can bring people together to celebrate and have...
