We have been waiting to try this restaurant as we have been long fans of the owner from his previous stops. We arrived at 1:35pm on a Sunday afternoon and were promptly seated at a table out on the patio. From this point on the experience became painful. The waitress took our order after about a 20 minute wait to do so, from that point on we never were spoken to again. We sat and waited for our food to come out, watching as everyone else at the restaurant was served their food. When a family that was seated next to us after we had already been waiting for 30 minutes was served their meal before ours came out we finally said something. At this point we were giving them a chance to realize they probably forgot to put our order in, but the waitresses response when asked where our food is replied that “she’s sorry and doesn’t know what’s going on”. We then sat and waited another 10 minutes and heard nothing more from the waitress and went inside to check ourselves. When asked again we were again told they’re sorry and didn’t know what happened with our order. Instead of correcting the situation and promptly getting our order out they decided to continue to serve and make orders for anyone else. I would love to say the food was great but we never got a chance to try it. After 90 minutes of being ignored we left without ever getting served. Unfortunately as a local we were looking forward to this being a new spot for us as we eat out often, but that was a one and done for us and we will be swaying anyone who asks away from this place. Customer service and...
Read moreIf you’re searching for a hidden gem, you must visit Chef Todd Ellis's Starving Artist Cafe. Todd is one of the hardest working chefs in the area, and he's now open for dinner, too, serving home style Americana and rustic Italian cuisine often with live music. 💞
We had the pleasure of dining at Starving Artist Cafe, and it was oh-so -good. We started with some delicious and perfectly prepared buffalo wings that knocked it out of the park. Following that, we enjoyed a fresh Caesar salad, which was crisp and refreshing.
For our main courses, we tried the blackened mahi over garlic spinach, a standout grilled pork chop in marsala sauce with bella mushrooms and spinach, and a fantastic burger with baby bella mushrooms, Swiss cheese, and brown sugar BBQ with crispy fries.
The food is great, and the atmosphere is equally inviting. Todd and his staff make you feel right at home, creating a warm and friendly environment. You have the option of indoor or outdoor seating, and it’s wonderful to know that dogs are welcome outside, too!
If you haven’t checked out Starving Artist Cafe yet, you should definitely go. They’re open Wednesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner, and they serve breakfast on the weekends (including Friday). With fantastic food, BYOB, live music, and a welcoming atmosphere, Starving Artist Cafe is a...
Read moreI've been wanting to stop in to check this place out. Really nice atmosphere. The staff were really nice folks. My friend and I decided to split a cheesesteak sandwich. The place smelt like they were either cleaning the grill or the ventilation system was not working. The sandwich was served on an untoasted soft hoagie roll which tasted good. Meat was very greasy and was lacking onions and no peppers at all. The taste was that of burnt grill with lots of hard black burnt matter from the grill and about a tablespoon of what appeared to be Velveeta. Water tasted like plastic as did the iced tea. The French fries were excellent and cooked to perfection. Perhaps a surcharge was added because we split the meal. Sandwich and two glasses of tea came to a reasonable $25.50 plus a 20% tip. The menu could use some help. Perhaps some healthier...
