I'm so saddened that I have to change my review. I really wanted to rally behind this neighborhood eatery. A few years back my experience was wonderful, food was amazing, now, I don't know who I pissed off but the last two visits did not result well.
A couple of week ago I went for a dine in experience solo. I ordered my dish, which by the way, is standard. I order THE SAME thing every time lol. Greek omelet, add peppers, onions, mushrooms, and today I asked to also add American cheese. The first visit, I called the waitress because I thought the cook forgot the feta. When she went to grab some more, she called out the cook, saying "Customer said you forgot the feta", loudly over other patrons. While she was waiting for the extra feta I noticed there was some feta in the omelet but it was a small bit and was in the corner. That's how I missed it. However I felt so bad that a scene was made so I tipped the amount of the bill on my way out for the trouble. The gentleman tending the register/walk ins was very accommodating and apologetic however, I really enjoyed his customer service.
Today, I called for a take out order and to my surprise I believe it was the same waitress on the phone. I stated my order, Greek omelet etc. and she replied " So you want an omelet with American cheese, all the veggies no feta"? I replied, "no, I want the feta as well, I want both cheeses." I'm not sure why my wanting to add veggies & cheese negates the fact I still ordered a Greek omelet. That just means make the original and make the additions. Not sure if cheese is scarce in the diner but I'm willing to pay for what I add. Weird, just plain weird. I feel targeted now and don't really feel confident returning. :-(
Look at the pic; This was when I first visited. Amazing,...
Read moreI am a travel nurse and work many hours. One thing I enjoy the most on my very few days off is to go to a great breakfast and have a couple mimosas. The first time I tried this diner it was a great experience. The food was great and the fruit was super fresh. I was actually looking forward to coming back! I arrived this morning and was greeted by an employee who looked very unhappy to be at her job. She was at the cash register/bar and is the face that greets the customers who walk in. She appeared to be bothered that customers were coming in to have breakfast. When asked if dining in I told her it was only me and I didn’t mind taking a 2-top table in the corner to save the bigger tables for larger parties. I sat at my table and watched 2 other tables be sat after me and be greeted before me as I still sat there unacknowledged. I went back to the girl at the cash register/bar and asked if my server knew I was there.. her response was that it was her section and she was busy that’s why she told me to take a center table and she would be there when she could. (She said take a center table of my choice but I saw a 2 top in a corner and felt I was being polite by not taking up a 4 top- she never said it was her table and she was to busy she just said go sit) Very uncomfortable and embarrassing. I just came off a 67 hr work week in the ICU. Not where I want my money spent. It’s unfortunate how one bad experience can really change your perspective and opinion of a place. I will spend my money at an establishment that is happy to have...
Read moreTotally forgot about reviewing this place and for good reason. I am not one to trash a place; some people work hard despite their co-workers' poor performance and attitudes. It is my intention to always be fair because peoples'livelihoods are involved. In t;his particular instance, i am wholly unable to attest to the food at this establishment, as my guest and i never made it that far. We came into the dinner and sat in a booth and proceeded to read the menu. We patiently waited for service. We continued to patiently wait for service. Still, we waited. We were not even acknowledged. We joked about our potential invisibility, BUT .. Still .. Waited patiently. We thought maybe we came curing a shfft change .. But then reasoned that 11:30am is an odd time for a shift change, but still we waited -- clearing our throats loudly and, eventually immaturely -- we grew giddy. All the while, we established eye contact with waitstaff whom kept congregating near the kitchen entrance and those whom occasionally floated about. It became a freakun' quest. We were determined to be served. Well, we have to hand it to you, Beantown; you broke our spirits. We got up and left at the 38 minute mark. You won that little war of attrition .. But .. We will get you next time, by gum! I'm teasing .. there is no next time. To this day, we laugh about our experience and take great pride in our patience. On a positive note, the place was clean and the food...
