I’m writing this post to hopefully save anyone with a food allergy from going to this restaurant!! I’d like to preface this review by stating that I NEVER turn to google to write bad things about restaurants. My dad and brother have celiac disease, which they told the waiter. I have a dairy allergy which I stated to the waiter. All of us double checked that there was no wheat and no dairy in our meals. Our waiter reassured us that there was no wheat, dairy, cross-contamination, etc. to worry about. The food is good so we went back a second time, our waitress told us the “gluten free” calamari (which the restaurant charges $2 extra for) was fried in the same oil as the wheat products. This makes the calamari unsafe for celiac people to eat. She also told me that the side salads that are served with each entre have cheese in the dressing. I clearly asked the waiter when ordering “is there any dairy in the side salad?” He replied “no”. Finally, they cook the gluten free pasta in the same water as the wheat pasta! CLEARLY these are things that people with allergies will not be able to tolerate! Myself, my brother and dad are all extremely sick after eating the food at this restaurant. If you have a food allergy, do...

Had a 715 reservation. Arrived 10 mins early and sat right away. Ordered drinks, apps and entrees all at once. Mussels, Caesar, and bread app were delicious and arrived at 735. Our entrees then arrived at 850. Tables that sat after us, left before we even got entrees. Then just 2 entrees arrived. We waited another 10 mins for the other 2. We waited so long that the 2 bus girls came over and asked us for to go containers when we hadn't even started eating. We ordered a salmon and plain broccolini for my 9 yr old son. It came burnt and charred on the outside and raw in the middle. Server didnt ask what temp we wanted and we assumed they would cook it more than rare for a child. I showed the server the plate and his response was " oh yeah, we cook salmon here to medium rare". Then broccolini had almonds on it. We ordered desserts. Those were out in 5 mins because we were 4 of the last 10 ppl in the whole place at 915. Dont worry, the check was out after the 1st bite. Salmon still on there. Even though my son had 2 bites. Oh well. You will NEVER see us or our ski Families there EVER again. We are in Stowe about 30x a year between us all combined. Not worth the Boston...

I really wanted to like this place. Made a reservation several weeks in advance after not being able to get in the year before. Waited 5 minutes at the host(ess) area before being acknowledged. The host who turned out to be our waiter finally came over and pointed us in the direction of our table (next to another table covered in dirty dishes). To his credit the waiter/host was slammed - not sure if they were down a worker - but his running around the restaurant didn’t make for a relaxing atmosphere. Each interaction was curt and he wound up upselling us on “fresh pasta” (+$8) and an Asiago roll (+$5) because we were grateful that he finally came over to our table and we felt rushed. The eggplant rolatini app was excellent. The shrimp scampi mediocre and the pizza was lukewarm and soggy when it made it to us. The grated cheese dispenser brought to our table was nearly empty and no one asked us how our meal was while we were eating. Not sure if it was an off night, but it sadly didn’t live up to our...

I recently dined at Salute and unfortunately, my experience with their customer service was extremely disappointing. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a rude and uninterested hostess who barely acknowledged my presence. As I was seated, it took an unreasonable amount of time for someone to come over and take my order. When I finally did order, the waiter seemed to be rushing and did not take the time to listen to my order properly. As a result, my food arrived with mistakes and I had to send it back. To make matters worse, when I asked for the bill, the server was nowhere to be found. I had to wait for a significant amount of time before I could flag down another staff member and request my bill. The entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The poor customer service made me feel unwelcome and unimportant as a customer."

Salute in Stowe, VT, exceeded all my expectations and then some! The star of the show was undoubtedly Chase, our waiter, whose impeccable service made the evening truly special. He went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was perfect. Now, let's talk about the food – the Chicken Parmesan and Lasagna were out of this world. Pro tip: order the home made pasta with it. Every bite was a flavor explosion that left me craving more. The attention to detail in each dish was evident, and the quality of ingredients truly shone through. A pro tip for future guests: make sure to call ahead and make a reservation, as they don't accept online reservations. Trust me, it's worth the effort. Salute is a gem in Stowe that promises a memorable culinary journey, and I can't wait to return for another exceptional dining experience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Salute Italian Restaurant in Stowe, Vermont, is a chef-owned gem specializing in authentic Italian cuisine and wood-fired pizza. This inviting cucina impresses with its dedication to traditional Italian flavors, showcased in dishes like the rich *Linguine Carbonara*, prepared with pecorino romano, parmesan, cream, pancetta, and shallots. The *Wood-Fired Lasagna* is another standout, featuring layers of local beef, sweet Italian sausage, house-made four-cheese ricotta, marinara, and melted mozzarella. We highly recommend opting for the homemade pasta, a worthwhile $5 upgrade that elevates each dish with exceptional texture and flavor. For Italian food lovers in Stowe, Salute is a must-visit destination. Reservations are essential, as this popular spot is often fully booked.
