Kitsune New Japanese Cuisine — Restaurant in Stowe

It’s been two weeks since we went to Kitsune and we are all still thinking about the food. We talked about the food the entire 40 minute drive home. The karage was AMAZING! The chicken was tender but the coating was so crispy. Not sure what the sauce was but it was so delicious. There was actual sadness felt when it was gone. My kid got the ramen and said it was the best he’s ever had. I got the udon. I’ve had udon in the past but this was so much more amazing. I still think about the noodles. I honestly wish I could eat this udon every day. We also got the katsu curry because we had some pretty strong feelings about leaving without trying it. Again, have had katsu curry in the past and this blew it out of the water. Like the karage, the chicken was so tender and the breading was super crispy.

Kitsune has been on my radar for a couple years now and we could just never make it happen. So very worth it to drive 40 minutes to experience it. You can taste the love and talent in the food. We will...

My wife taught English in Japan for a year and noted how much this place took inspiration from the cuisine and exquisitely adapted it to be in a small space at a cool retro motel in the middle of Vermont. We had the oysters and edamame for starters. The oysters had some type of flavored ice shavings on top. The edamame was perfectly salted and flavored. I had the gyodon.
