What a unique and super cool place in the heart of Stowe, VT! My family and I were staying close by and The Round Hearth Cafe quickly became the staple of our trip. We did every morning here whether it was just a quick iced coffee to go or an early lunch sitting out on their patio. The folks working there were wonderful! Kind and courteous - going out of their way to ensure happiness. I had iced coffee each day while my kids had lattes and hibiscus iced tea. The breakfast sandwiches came on huge slices of sourdough bread and were perfectly buttered and crispy. Please check out the video I attached to see the amazing outdoor seating. Couple of notes: parking is fine - just find a few spots on the roadway out of the way if all the slots are taken. This is a serve yourself location, meaning you order and pay in one location and then wait with a buzzer until your food is ready. The wait was completely acceptable and not long at all. It seemed perfectly timed for food that was being cooked and not sitting under a hot lamp. The inside of the restaurant has plenty of seating around the massive round hearth. A trip in the winter is absolutely called for as we missed out on the cool fireplace that seemed to be ripped from the past! Additionally, there are cool little stands within the restaurant where you can browse local goods and gifts. Tons of local flavor with maple and more. I witnessed a rather nasty customer demand to know where their food was - and since I was sitting there watching could tell that the people in front of him ordered easy meals like heated up muffins and bread - but that didn't bother the manager on duty. He immediately addressed the concern and expedited the gentleman's order. Again, that level of service demands attention as the manager could've simply provided context around the order in front of the complaining man, but instead he chose to provide a level of customer service not always seen in the industry any longer. Wonderful breakfast and lunch staple in Stowe that you need to check out now! EDIT: Just found out I cannot reply to a comment on my review. To the manager's mom: yes! Please use my review in any other forum; just give me credit if possible! THANK YOU!

The atmosphere was cozy and rustic. I loved the bench seating around the central fire pit which was not at all smokey for indoors and a welcome reprieve from the cold rain. The breakfast potatoes were deliciously crispy. The lobster roll good but not special (meat piled on a piece of bread). The service is fast food style in that you place your order at the counter, wait until buzzed, then pick it up and seat yourself. That's all fine by me EXCEPT when paying it automatically asks for a tip. I'm a little irked by this growing trend. I don't know the service or what that entails, so I always put $0 then leave cash on the table as I deem appropriate. In this case I did all the work. No one brought me anything. The people at the counter were polite and friendly. I left $5 since someone has to clear tables.

Went for breakfast and some light shopping on my partner and I’s last day in Stowe the weekend before Thanksgiving and everything/everyone was so wonderful! Breakfast was delicious and came out quick. Our table was right by the fire, which although small was really warm and cozy. After breakfast we walked around the market and found the most beautiful Christmas cups. Grabbed them, bought them right away and used them all season long. Can’t wait to bring them out again when the season comes around :)

The Roundhearth provided one of the best ski trip experiences that we could have ever hoped for. For any high school group looking to a host ski trip, I honestly believe there is no better option than the Roundhearth. I was a junior in high school trying to plan a school ski trip and out of all the places that I contacted, the Roundhearth was the most cooperative and friendly of them all. They accommodated all of our needs from working with a sixteen year old to plan the trip and being flexible with many last minute cancellations and add-ons. Prior to the trip, they responded to all our questions and requests within 48 hours. Their staff was overly friendly and extremely accommodating in every way. They had staff available to cater to our needs at all times and always took care of all our requests. To give an example our bus to return home was only available to pick up our luggage from the Roundhearth after we had left for the mountain. So, the Roundhearth’s staff loaded all of our luggage and equipment onto the bus so our skiing wouldn’t be interrupted. The Roundhearth is perfect and very enjoyable for any high school group. They have entertainment available including a TV room, giant hot tub, video games, board games, pool/air hockey tables. These things are all perfect for high schoolers to have a fun time in their nights at the lodge. The living quarters are divided between boys and girls making it very easy for order to be maintained. They had staff available at all hours including a night guard to make sure everyone is safe and everything is in order. These things made it very easy for chaperones to oversee their students and know everyone was safe. All of our lift tickets and rentals were well taken care of by the Roundhearth and Stowe Mountain, to the point that all we had to do was wake up and go to the mountain knowing everything was taken care of. The Roundhearth is perfect for any high school group. They are organized, knowledgeable when it comes to high school groups, and extremely friendly. After extensive research and choosing the Roundhearth for our ski trip there is no ski lodge I could more strongly recommend for the perfect youth ski trip. There is great organization, perfect accommodations for youth, and friendly smiles all around. Thank you Roundhearth for making our trip amazing and a huge success.

Stumbled upon this absolute gem after a hike in nearby Smuggler's Notch and wow what a find!! Best latte ever, great food, coziest vibes, local art, and friendly service! And it's historic too - the cafe used to be a ski dorm for youth groups but has since been converted into the adorable cafe it is today, as well as a huge shop with antiques and also where local artists showcase their works! ||This place is so immediately welcoming - surrounded by fall foliage and all the beauty of a New England state park - and when you walk in, you're instantly greeted with cozy farm decor and a giant decorative fire pit as the centerpiece of the dining experience. ||Staff are all friendly and happy to chat. They have a decent menu of sweet and savory items and everything is homemade. You order at the counter and they give you a buzzer to pick up your food when ready - so no table service but definitely wasn't an issue for me. They have tons of coffee flavors and other drinks. I started with a toasted marshmallow latte bc I can't resist anything marshmallow and it truly was the BEST I ever had!! ||For my lunch I got a cup of their soup of the day - lentil - and a pulled pork sandwich. That lentil soup was amazing - even better than my own version I make!! I'll definitely be trying to recreate this recipe at home now. The pulled pork sandwich was also excellent. The pork was so tender, lots of coleslaw on nicely toasted bread and delicious sauce - all fantastic. ||The rest of the space is filled with items and pieces of art from local vendors and artists so be sure to browse before you leave. I found so much that I loved! My only regret was I didn't have enough room in my suitcase haha! They also have some rooms for rent onsite via Airbnb.||Prices are reasonable here and they have tons of inside seating, as well as a large lawn and outdoor space with lots of seating there as well. Plenty of parking here. There are small mountains across the street that were so full of colorful fall foliage on my visit (early October) - just a splendid place all around....
