Joe's Diner — Restaurant in Stratford

It’s a pretty small place, it perfectly strikes a balance between rundown and vintage.

That could sound like criticism if you read it wrong, but I actually mean it as a complement. Many places attempt to mimic an old 50s/60s vibe and it’s a little too “fake,” if you know what I mean... And while Joe’s Diner certainly tries to inspire nostalgia, you could also easily believe they’ve been using the same decor and music for the last 50-60 years. Again, that’s intended as a compliment.

When we went, there was only one guy working. I don’t know if it was “Joe” himself, but he was awesome either way. Poor guy was cooking and serving every guest by himself.

Despite how much work he was doing, he had a smile on his face the whole time and maintained an impeccably friendly demeanor.

My wife’s order included toast, which he forgot. It was ok, my wife forgot too and didn’t care. But he was still very apologetic and joked that he’s “a terrible waitress,” to which another guest replied “yeah, but you’re a great cook!”

We can confirm he is indeed a great cook. Our food was tasty, delivered in timely fashion, and his tip was well deserved. Great place to catch a breakfast in this little...

I have to share that Joe's Diner is under New Management black owned so please show them some love and support.. Now let's get into it. Been in Bridgeport all my life and never ate here..Silly me. The service was amazing. It's real cute. I hope I have her name right😊 Tianna is a wonderful waitress /hostess very friendly. James an excellent cook. The music was off the hook. I was singing and dancing in my seat while eating my food. Mary J flowing was out the speakers. Definitely will be back to have the Loaded Homefries they come highly recommended...Go check it out..Good eats and good vibes..The prices...

Everything was on point from start to finish! I called prior to arriving to inquire about them serving turkey products. The young lady was very nice & that was the contributing factor for me going there! I started off with coffee & water with lemon….the waitress was very attentive & immediately took my order! I ordered a vegetable omelette, turkey bacon, home fries & wheat toast! The chef asked if I wanted spinach as well since that wasn’t a vegetable on the menu! Kudos to him….The entire meal was absolutely delicious! Not one single complaint! If I am ever in town again, I will definitely go...
