DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I would not recommend this place, especially for any celebration or for a large group of people. We called two weeks in advance to plan for a celebration for my daughter’s baptism. We requested to be downstairs on the outside patio for about 25 people - for cocktails and appetizers, we would bring our own cake. We also requested to have 2 of every appetizer and if they could be ready at noon. We were assured this could happen and we called a few days before to verify this information. On the way over my husband called for the 3rd time to verify our arrangements (for the 3rd time) in which he was abruptly hung up on. When our group arrived, they were sent to sit at another area of the restaurant because they “don’t make reservations for the downstairs patio” - which was not specified over the phone upon asking for it. They were very annoyed at the fact that 30 people (3 unaccounted for kids that sat in laps and an extra couple) had shown up, even though they had plenty of seats to accommodate - a very very rude male manager did not want us to take up any more tables. This is why we requested to be in an area that was not the main area of the restaurant. We requested the downstairs bar outside because it was supposed to be a cocktail and appetizer celebration, if only the appetizers were ready on time. The empty tables also stayed empty for the remainder of our celebration because they did not have a lot of customers besides us and a piano recital on the inside. When the manager saw we brought a cake he said he would charge us $1.75 for each slice and they would charge for 35 people. This was never mentioned in our 3 phone calls with them. At about 12:30 my husband asked about the 26 preordered appetizers in which they were very confused and had no order in their system. The hostess had to go ask the manager and then she put the order in - our group had started to receive their own appetizers, some even meals, because the appetizers we had planned for them were not even ordered yet. We were assured twice over the phone they would be ready at noon. This resulted in many wasted appetizers that we paid for. In the midst of the chaos, the bartender was amazing and working her butt off to accommodate our large crowd and the bar; which is why I give a 1 star rather than none. For all of the inconvenience and rudeness, the restaurant ended up allowing us to cut the cake without the $1.75 per slice up charge, how nice…. We will not be giving this restaurant any more of our money since they can’t even accommodate to a reservation that was confirmed 2 times (and a 3rd phone call ending in being hung up on)! They blamed it on lack of employees but the issue stems from lack of customer service and poor management. I would recommend any place EXCEPT Pirate’s Loft for a large...
Read moreShould be no stars. Run from this nightmare of a restaurant. Average food at best definitely frozen fish not fresh. worst service I have ever experienced. Took 10 min to see a waitress (where we placed our whole order at once). However, 45 minutes later, we still didn’t even have bread at our table. Almost 1 hour before we got our m raw appetizer. 1 hour for a raw appetizer is ridiculous . Then about 2 min later, they bring the salad and the Entrées all at the same time. I asked if they could remove the appetizer and the salad off my bill since I had to eat my warm entree that was brought at the same time as all our other food, including appetizer! The owner refused to help in any way. I would also like to add there were only 30 people max in a 100+ person capacity restaurant. This owner should not be in the SERVICE Industry. There are three better options one block away Shrimpers, Twisted Tuna, and Manatee. We will never be returning to this establishment. It blows my mind how the owner of a restaurant just disregarded our concerns, and refused to speak with us (sending a business card that isn’t even hers in our final bill) as patrons on...
Read moreNote the sign on the outside says, "Pirate's Loft Restaurant" (the Tiki Bar is downstairs on the SE corner of the bldg) and it's part of the Pirate's Cove Resort & Marina. I was immediately impressed with the structure itself and the host was a wealth of knowledge, telling me the place has been here since the 60's and was constructed with all manner of wood species that have stood the test of time very well. We sat outside on an incredible early-January day and the atmosphere was ideal. The menu has a lot of variety and is reasonably priced, especially as it seems to me that that most waterfront restaurants boost their prices by 10 to 20% over the norm for the local area just for the privilege of the view. To get to the point, the location is gorgeous, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the food was both affordable and delicious. My only regret is that it's a two hour drive from our home in central FL. That said, I will be back! There's so much on the menu I...
