We dined at Teddy G’s Pub & Grille in Sturbridge, MA, and unfortunately, it was not a great experience. Here’s the timeline of our dinner to provide context:
5:30 PM: We arrived and were seated promptly. (Proof shown in the Picture with a 15 second recording in which you can see we walked through the door at this time and was seated promptly)
Between 5:30 and 6:14 PM: We ordered our appetizers and entrees. The menus were taken off the table after we placed our order, which was before 6:14 PM. (Proof shown in the picture with a 8 minute and 13 second recording where it showed I started filming at 6:14, additional picture shows our table with no menus on it at 6:14 in the 8 minute and 13 second video)
7:05 PM: Our entrees were finally served. This is timestamped with video proof. (Proof shown in the picture with a 20 minute and 31 second recording which you can see behind screen of the food coming out by our server)
This means our food took at least 51 minutes to arrive after ordering, even giving the restaurant the benefit of the doubt that we ordered our food exactly at 6:14 which was a video of our appetizers that we ordered with no menus on the table which meant we ordered our entrees before this time.
Negatives: Long Wait for Food: Waiting nearly or if not literally an hour for entrees is unacceptable.
Unprofessional Management: What made the experience even worse was how the management handled the delay. When I brought it up, I wasn’t looking for anything more than an apology or simple acknowledgment of the issue. Instead, I was gaslit and told our food only took 30 minutes to come out, which was factually incorrect based on the videos of the dinner we had. The manager insisted we were wrong and even said we could speak with the owner if we wanted, but by that point, we were exhausted after a 2-hour dinner and just wanted to leave. The attitude and lack of accountability were unprofessional and frustrating.
Atmosphere: We were seated near the back where a door kept opening and closing, causing a loud banging noise. This wasn’t just bothersome for us as other parties in the area noticed and complained as well. While I understand the restaurant was full and couldn’t move us, this is something to be aware of for future diners, avoid the back seating area.
Poor Water Quality: The water tasted like plastic. We ended up going to our car to get bottled water instead, but this is just an opinion but should be noted.
Positives: Our Server: Ashley was amazing in an otherwise disappointing dinner. She was kind and a pleasure to have. That said, it would’ve been nice if she checked in a bit more to update us on our delayed food without us needing to ask.
The Food: Once it finally arrived, the food was good. While the long wait soured the experience, the quality of the food itself was a redeeming factor.
Final Thoughts: The wait time, poor management response, and disruptive atmosphere outweighed the positives of our meal. Ashley and the food was really good, but the lack of professionalism and accountability from the manager left a lasting negative impression.
A Word to the Owner: I’d like to point out that in situations like this, where it’s my word against your manager’s, it’s crucial to consider that a manager’s account may not always be entirely accurate. There’s a bias, as they might try shift blame onto the customer to avoid accountability. I understand managers are trusted to represent the business, but dismissing a customer’s concerns outright reflects poorly on the establishment. It’s important to handle such situations with fairness and openness, rather than assuming the customer is wrong and taking everything the manager...
Read moreWell, I’ll start by saying that this restaurant almost killed me in front of my entire family due to their negligence and lack of training for their server on allergy’s , not only did I inform the server while my children were ordering their food and while I was ordering my food about my mushroom allergy, this server was told multiple times that neither my children or my food was to be anywhere near mushrooms due to my allergy but she never told the kitchen at all which the owner openly admitted to me after the incident, on that day after my pasta came I walked my plate back over to the server before eating it to confirm that she had told the kitchen about my allergy. she assured me that I would be OK and that she did tell them after consuming a good portion of my pasta, I begin having trouble breathing. I went to my car. I got Benadryl came back in took some Benadryl. It did not help. I went to the bathroom because I felt like I was choking because my tongue was swelling up I Then went into anaphylactic shock in their bathroom and had to be rushed out by ambulance to the hospital right after being given An EpiPen and several doses of steroids to open my airway again, The owner admitted that it was completely their fault and that they were accepting full responsibility for what happened since the server made the choice to not inform the kitchen of my allergy at all but then their insurance company turned around and tried to say that I ate my food and I was fine and then I supposedly consumed somebody else’s burger after eating my own food which is just a lie ,It’s bad enough to almost kill somebody, but to lie about it after just to avoid accountability after already accepting accountability is crazy not to mention when we got there we were a party of 14 and only given 13 chairs and they made 2 of us share a chair saying they had no extra chairs and then when they comped the food, they required my family to still tip on the bill as part of comping out the food , I’ve been a waitress for 20 years not only did you guys traumatize my entire family including my autistic 3 1/2 year-old who was there and my three of my other children but all of my family was in town for my brothers wedding. This was the celebration and you ruined it with your negligence thank you for creating a terrible memory...
Read moreThis Restaurant Is Great If You Do Not Value Your Time At All. Takes An Hour Just For Fried Foods And Took An Hour Last Time As Well. Now The Worst Thing Is Buying An Expensive Platter Of Seafood And Having The Scallops Still Cold In Center. How Does It Take An Hour To Cook And Still Be Cold. Needless To Say She Refused To Eat Anymore Of Them Fearing Food Poisoning. There Goes Wasting More Money. Get Charged For Extra Tartar Sauce And Receive 1 Small Cup To Accompany An Entire Platter Full Of Seafood. I Believe In Paying For The Ease Of Access Of Good Food You Do Not Have To Cook, But Waiting An Hour For Fried Food Is Just Insane. Obviously Its Not A Drive Through But Waiting That Long For Cold Food Is Just Wrong. Not Sure Who Manages The Cooks But Clearly Time For A Change In Management In Their Kitchen. Just Because A Customer Is Waiting Do Not Rush Out Uncooked Food Atleast They Will Be Able To Eat It All And Say That Food Was Worth The Wait. We Did Not Have That Satisfied Feeling After Our Meal Unfortunately. She Literally Just Said "I Should Have Made A Grilled Cheese Instead". When You Prefer A Grilled Cheese Over a 27$ Seafood Platter Clearly Something Is Wrong. I Hate Leaving Reviews Like This But I Had To Share My Thoughts. I Hope The Owner Seriously Considers A Change In Kitchen Management Because At The Moment There Is Something Wrong. Seafood Is Not Something You Want Uncooked After An Hour Wait. Sorry. Good Luck If You Make A Future Visit I Can Only Hope Your Experience Is Better...
