I recently had the pleasure of dining at Barcelos Restaurant, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. From the moment my party and I stepped through the door, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for the entire evening.
First and foremost, I must commend Bazil himself for providing such exceptional service. His attention to detail and dedication to ensuring our dining experience was nothing short of perfect truly stood out. From personally greeting each table to ensuring that every dish was prepared to perfection, Bazil’s commitment to excellence was evident in every aspect of our meal.
The ambiance of the restaurant was charming and inviting, with dim lighting and elegant decor creating the perfect atmosphere for a memorable evening. The menu offered a diverse selection of dishes, each more tempting than the last. From classic Portuguese favorites to innovative culinary creations, there was something to please every palate.
Our server, Bazil, was also outstanding. He was attentive and knowledgeable, offering helpful recommendations and ensuring that our glasses were never empty. His professionalism and friendly demeanor enhanced our dining experience and added to the overall enjoyment of the evening.
Now, let’s talk about the food. Each dish that came out of the kitchen was a work of art, both visually stunning and bursting with flavor. The ingredients were fresh and of the highest quality, and it was clear that a great deal of care and attention went into the preparation of each dish. Standouts included the peri-peri chicken, which was cooked to perfection and served with delicious sides that had us savoring every bite.
Of course, no meal would be complete without dessert, and Barcelos did not disappoint in this regard either. The dessert menu offered a tempting array of options, from classic Portuguese custard tarts to decadent chocolate mousse. We opted to try the custard tarts, and they were the perfect end to a perfect meal – light, creamy, and utterly delicious.
In addition to the exceptional food and service, I was also impressed by the attention to detail throughout the restaurant. From the immaculately set tables to the impeccable presentation of each dish, it was clear that every aspect of the dining experience had been carefully considered.
Overall, my experience at Barcelos Restaurant was nothing short of outstanding. From the warm welcome to the delicious food to the impeccable service, every aspect of the evening exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Barcelos to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience, and I cannot wait to return myself. Thank you, Bazil, for a truly...
Read moreNot good at all!! Beware before to go! This place is not italitan and not mediterranean! I'm not even going to give them credit by calling it fusion! Food: Ordered Chicken Alfredo pasta and the sauce tasted like it was made from canned/packaged sauce. The pasta itself was soggy and the chicken was just sliced boiled chicken and it had a weird smell. My friend ordered the same thing both our portion sizes were different. My husband ordered grilled beef kabob plate. The texture of the beef was off like it was almost mushy in the middle. There was hummus on the side and it was dry! I've never seen dry hummus before. Service: If I could give this a negative I would. The server has a sour look on her face everytime we would ask her anything. After ordering she brought the plates and silverware out and there was one 1 fork on there that wasn't washed at all. It still had sauce on it!! Disgusting! we tell her to take the silverware away and bring us plastic ones instead. She took the fork only and walked off and we immediately called her back to take them all. She literally grunted at the request. Later she comes back with more steel silverware and slams it on our table so we remind her that we asked for plastic/packaged. And her looked so annoyed. They way she was slamming and picking up things made other people around look at our table. She brings back packaged plastic silverware this time and throws it in the middle of the table. Mind you we were being polite the whole time. Next, We also ordered some drinks (non-alcoholic) which they completely forgot about until we reminded the server (it was another person). She said it would be out in a minute then we see her make it herself and didn't bring it out until last part of the meal. Once we decided to stop eating, we asked for the check. Our party was small, 4 adults, 1 small child and only 3 people ordered food. They still automatically charged us 15% gratuity on our check. The bill for the horrible food cost over $112! I have never experience such unprovoked bad service in my life and the food was offensive to me as a human! Do go here! You're better off eating at Olive...
Read moreGiving this a 5* simply because of the culinary surprise and the service. Coming out of a Rockets game at 10:30pm, we were resigned to Ihop but quick googling found this restaurant near our house in Sugar Land open till 11pm. Calling on a lark, though certain to be told that the kitchen is already closed, we were told by the manager Mr. Khan, that if we order right away and came in by 11pm, they would have the food ready. Quickly looking at the menu as we drove, to our surprise, we found it had kababs, pizza, pastas, and many other items. Not to waste time, we quickly ordered 3 mixed kababs platters and a peri peri chicken. We arrived at the restaurant 5 mins to closing, sure that we will have to simply take out the food; however, Mr. Khan gave us warm welcome and said that no, we could sit and eat if we wanted. Sure enough a table for 6 was already set up, even though all other tables already had chairs upturned. The food arrived almost as we sat down. The kababs (3 skewers/plate with lamb, chicken and beef) were served on a middle eastern bread with white and yellow rice, chopped salad and a side of hummus. We dived in - all that can be said is that everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. The peri peri chicken (picture attached) came in, still dripping its juices, and was similarly delicious. Usually when so much food is ordered, some comes home; but not a single cube of kabab or peri peri chicken was left. The salad, rice and humus was similarly devoured, such was the tastiness of it all. A separate helping of hummus was also requested, only to be totally devoured. Maybe it was the lateness of the hour or the graceful service, but we have rarely been so satisfied after a meal. We were reluctant to sit further for dessert but Mr. Khan still brought us a slice of their yummy chocolate cake (even after we had paid the bill). How does one top that!! We will definitely be back and hope others also discover this gem of a gastronomic delight, and not just for the food but also the service and general ambiance. Thank you Mr. Khan for giving us this treat almost at...
