I was out visiting my sister this past weekend and we were in her part of town, which I don’t go to often. We were both in the mood for something cold, and she mentioned Wah Coffee.
I assumed it’d just be another quick coffee run, but as soon as we walked in, I could tell this place was different. The space was beautiful — tall ceilings, lots of room, and just super well put together. It didn’t feel cramped or noisy. More like somewhere you could sit down and actually stay awhile. It had that “I could get work done here” kind of feel.
We went up to a beautiful large table in the center of the shop to place our order. The workers were very kind and patient, and explained the menu to us. I was very happy to see that, albeit they had many coffee and matcha options, they also had lassi (a drink I love even more than boba).
I ordered a mango lassi and my sister got an americano. She drinks coffee daily and usually doesn’t say much unless something’s off, but she immediately pointed out how smooth it was. Said most americanos end up being too bitter, but this one was just right. I tried it myself and agreed. To me it felt like chocolate milk but with the (amazing) feeling of getting my body caffeinated. My sister didn't agree with my chocolate milk comment but she did agree it tastes fantastic.
The lassi was even better than I expected. Cold, thick, and not too sweet. No weird aftertaste or fake mango flavor like some places use.
While we were waiting, someone from the staff came around with chocolates and snacks. They didn’t make a big deal about it, just walked around offering them like it was normal. It was one of those small touches that actually made a difference.
Prices were surprisingly fair too. I’d assumed, based on how nice the place looked, that it would be a little overpriced — but it wasn’t at all. Especially for the quality.
This might’ve been our first time there, but I’d go back for sure. Whether it’s for coffee or just to sit down and knock out a few things on my laptop. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Sometimes I am hesitant to advertise places in fear of them getting packed, but this place is soo spacious. I feel like that could never...
Read moreThis place is great. The atmosphere is peaceful and always quiet study, while also allowing for a nice chat. The coffee is quite good, and is a perfect place for matcha lovers. The inside is modern but not dystopian, and simplistic yet well decorated. The furniture is nice, and the bathrooms are very well kept and clean. I would recommend for meetups with friends, or even self study work. I first found out about this place from a viral clip I saw on Youtube, and even today some lady was doing some camera work and filming with the employees for social media. The employees are all friendly and nice, yet keep a professional sense and try to do their best. The only thing bad I have to say is the way they serve the food and coffee. They say the persons name for the order and leave it on a tray. while this is nice and easy, WAH coffee has a few extension rooms from the main area that are equally nice but it may be harder to hear them call your name especially with headphones. They also have outdoor seating so unless you're actively watching them make the coffee you won't know when your order is ready. One suggestion I should have for them is to make each customer have a small buzzer they take with them if they sit outside or in the extended rooms so they will know when their order is completed. Also I read a few of the one star reviews which complain of slow service. I feel like that's not a good complaint as the baristas are very busy with continuous orders and also some people might not have heard their named called and assumed they just left it there. So that ties back to having a better method for communicating the order is completed. Also the workers take longer as they're making quality drinks and handcraft all the components. So it may take a little longer but that's ok. Also all the food is 100% halal as it is Muslim owned. They also have board games to play with friends while you wait for your order. Overall amazing coffee shop can definitely see it growing bigger in the future. Will...
Read moreI tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but over trying it a couple different times it just not good. For one the coffee is never consistent either too milky too sweet or the espresso is burnt. The matcha is better but average. One of the first times we went one of the baristas sprayed febreze in one of the rooms that legit landed in our drinks. The baristas are poorly trained as they don’t even know how to pull a decent shot. The last time i visited one of the girls tried the shot and made a face because it was not good. If the shot you’re pulling is not good then dial it in? why are you serving customers bad espresso. The girls are friendly, but do forget they are working as they were engaging in side conversations with eachother causing the service to be slow. It should not take 10 + minutes to bring out 3 drinks when you have four girls working with no other customers waiting before us. They work like their there to talk to their friends. The last time I visited I noticed a girl drop another customers muffin on the table and was about to serve the women the item until she saw that we were looking and got her another one. The same girl tipped over a pile of cups sitting on the table down. 1 girl sniffed the shot before putting it in the latte that she did serve to us. Another girl poured the shot in with the milk before steaming it for the latte? This all happened in the span of 15 minutes. Its the owners job to make sure your employees are well trained. This place has potential but the service can be better baristas should be friendly and they are but they aren't professional, the drinks can be better, and the cleanliness definitely can be better. Overall Wah disappointed me as i wanted to support a local muslim owned business, the ambiance they definitely have nailed but the quality in drinks has to...
