Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Sugarloaf Township

I have been a huge fan of the Big Kahuna steak sandwich of Jersey Mikes for many years. As I traveled out of the Hazleton area, I couldn’t wait to find a Jersey Mike’s and get one! I NEVER write reviews. I saw a new startup Jersey Mikes was opening in Hazleton. Super excited! Tonight was opening night and I told myself NOT to order because they will be ridiculously busy and not have a grip on things yet. But, I couldn’t resist and I phone ordered a Big Kahuna to go. Told 15 mins. I showed up 15 mins later, expecting some discombobulation on opening day, and I was right! But only took 20 mins to get my Big Kahuna, and only a little confusion at the register, and great friendly attitude after I am a sure was a tough day. Huge thumbs up to everyone there. I took it home and expected it not to taste anything like other Franchises. It DID NOT! It was not only the best Big Kanuna I ever got from any Jersey Mike’s, it was the very best cheesesteak I have ever eaten. That is saying a lot from a 60 year old that has traveled the world! First time at Jersey Mike’s and my first experience was ruined. The girl at the register was unpleasant. Asked me what toppings I wanted on my sandwich (Club Sub)… I was confused and told her whatever comes on the Club Sub (number 8). She said she already rang me up for a turkey provolone and the bacon would be an extra charge. I was confused because bacon is listed on the Club Sub. She asked if I wanted it Mike’s way otherwise it will only be turkey and provolone so I said I guess I’ll have it Mike’s way. I believe the guy wrote it up wrong because i originally wanted a Club Sub without ham, but she rang it up as a turkey and provolone? Idk but she did not even attempt to correct the mistake. Especially telling me she would have to upcharge for the bacon to be added when it was the staff’s mess up, like no just make it right and don’t have an attitude about it. What a shame! This review is for the customer service, the food is good, solid sandwich. However, I won’t be back to the Hazleton location, the woman that hands out pick orders should not be at the front with customer. She acts like she is doing one a favor or she is annoyed. No greeting, no thank you. You are greeted with a “who are you here for?” Tosses bag and done. This is the second time, first time I was like “ok, everyone has a bad day” . However, today confirms she is not fit to be working with customers.
