Visiting PA..on October 12th...I stopped at Perkins restaurant with my grands for breakfast. We ordered our meals and waited 45 minutes AND...we were NEVER served our meals. Six tables assignments of people who came in 10--15-20 minutes after we did... were served their meals.. I asked the server what was happening...she said that she was told that ..."since it got busy"...the easier orders were being made first...our order was just the same as the other table assignments....pancakes and eggs. Our server was visibly upset as she kept checking on our order. We sat and waited 45 minutes....I decided to leave as the server went back to check on the order again...we got to the reception area to walk out the door and the server came to me and said that she spoke with the GM and the supervisor...but "THEY WERE NOT BUDGING". She apologized profusely. I told her that it was no fault of hers if management refuses to serve people who are of a different race. I felt sorry that my grands had to experience discrimination in this day and age. Sadly, the ugly monster (racism) continues to show its face day to day in supposedly..Civilized Times. ..such ignorance! Shame on Perkins management in...
Read moreOrdered pork chops with garlic. I've had bacon thicker than these chops. Since they were so thin, they over cooked them so they were dry. They waitress asked if I wanted another order and I said it was fine. The hostess came over and I told her the same thing. I figured I'd just eat my vegetables and potato. I got the sauteed spinach and a baked potato. Spinach was clearly boiled and not flavored at all, that is not what sauteed means. And I love a baked potato very much, I especially love the skin! Well, not this one. It was so dirty and gritty, I tried to wipe it off, I had enough water on my plate from the spinach. But I still had dirt in my teeth, u know that grit when u bite down is a real deal breaker when trying to enjoy food that's not supposed to come with dirt. Another thing that bothered me was that I usually get just water with lemon, but I was in a soda kind of mood because the orange cherry fanta sounded soooo good to me. I couldn't have the straw, it was the paper kind and if u have celiac, u know the glue is not gluten free, so they couldn't offer me anything else? And I wasn't even offered a refill. That's sad. Sorry, not gonna rush back there...
Read moreThe food is almost always good, if you dine in; however, the take out system is a nightmare. First off, my personal food was cold and we arrive on time to pick it up. I live less than five minutes away & it should not be cold that quickly. So that means, it had to be sitting and done earlier than the scheduled time. Similarly, my mother's soup was also cold.
Second, we were told that EVERYTHING was in the boxes. The particular item being a dessert. It WAS NOT. Therefore, my father had to run out and get it - again. This is at least the second time we were screwed with the take out service. I am positive that it actually a third. And interestingly, my mother is the one that always gets screwed from it.
The food is always good when you dine there, but the take out system is a nightmare. I know this is the second time things were f*ed up for us, but, I'm more than 80% sure that it's actually the third. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you dine there and avoid take out. Especially if you live...
