fujiyama — Restaurant in Summersville

A friend and I stopped here for sushi takeout since we had two 80+ lb dogs with us traveling through. We tried to call it in before we got there but no one would answer the phone, so we decided to stop in and just order it to go. We were given a wait time of 30 minutes, no problem so we wait. It’s not that busy but we understand places are having a hard time finding people who want to work. Took well over 30 minutes, got the sushi to the car, and they smashed two big rolls into a small container and only gave us one set of chopsticks... still not really a problem and drove somewhere to sit down with the dogs and eat. Finally got the sushi out and it was close to what we ordered but very much not. I got the bayridge roll and she got the super tempera roll. The bayridge was COVERED in scallions. I can handle most things and scallions is not one of them. They could not be picked off with all the eel sauce and spicy Mayo on top. The super tempura roll didn’t have anything on top at all. It was missing the jalapeños and all the sauce on top. To top it off, the cream cheese was bad. It was super sour and awful. We ended up just switching rolls but this happened the last time I was there. We ordered two rolls and were given just two different random rolls. Don’t waste your time here. Just...

We made reservations this evening for a party of 14 at 1930 hours. We all got there and was seated in a timely manner. Once seated, the waitress came around and took everyone drink orders and everything seemed to be going ok. Then as the night went on, the waitress made a lot of mistakes, which took even longer to get what we wanted. The first mistake she made was that she didn't turn on the grill, so when our cook (Ricky) that we had requested, came over to start the entertainment he noticed the grill wasn't on. That delayed our stay even longer then it should have been. Throughout the night we had to actually go and track down our waitress to fill our drinks. This happened 3 times. I know people are busy at places like that but when that's your only table and you can't even keep up, somethings wrong. At the end when she came with our bill, it was wrong to. There was drinks and food orders that were not on there. So when she went back to fix the final bill, it's 10:30 at this time, I had to track her down once more to pay for my meal. We come there all the time and usually have a great time. The food is wonderful and the cooks are outstanding. This experience with the waitress that we had won't stop us from coming there again but we will definitely be requesting...

Nice people but it is NOT cook at your table. We have been to several of Fujiyama restaurants and were excited to visit one on our vacation this time. We arrived to find a sign on the door that states that they were unable to cook at your table. We took a chance anyway to try the restaurant as we have had consistently good food and service at other restaurants on previous visits. We were seated by the hostess. We passed by the sushi bar and the empty main dining room and were seated with the majority of people in the back hallway near what seems to be a service entrance. The waitress was very pleasant but service was not very prompt. We ordered the chicken dinner only to find that the chicken was very tough and not very good. There was a large portion of rice which was very good. The soup and tea were both lukewarm. Service was slow and we were at the very last table so we did not see the waitress very often. In keeping with the slow service, the check was a long time in coming and we were happy to leave once the meal was complete. As we were leaving we saw that they were starting to seat people at the cooking tables but did not see any chefs servicing that area.
