BENJI JAPANESE STEAK HOUSE — Restaurant in Summersville

I visited Benji Japanese Steakhouse for the first time on Wednesday, 27 November 2024. I was too late to visit the sushi restaurant I normally visit in Summersville, but I really wanted sushi... so I gave Benji a try.

I am so, so glad I did.

Their parking lot was full when I arrived to pick up my takeout order, and I actually had to wait about ten minutes longer for my order than what I was originally told when I called it in.

However!

I would rather wait on quality than have something rushed and on-time that isn't as good.

Oh my goodness, where to start! We are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary/ 31 years together and taking a motorcycle trip from MA back home to Indiana, and stopped in Summersville for the night. This place far exceeded all hospitality for being so close to closing time! From every kind interaction to the fantastic food to the unforgettable guitar serenading from the staff, just on a whim from conversation! We had already had a fantastic day and this literally was the icing and cherry on top! Our hearts were overflowing!! We are so grateful for your kindness...

Sat at table by the bar. My salad came out with a hair on it that I immediately handed back to the waitress, she asked me if I wanted a new salad..well..ya. Couple of customers at the bar, not very busy so staff socializing at the bar.
