As a resident of The Bridges of Summerville, I was very excited when I heard about the new Chick-fil-A location opening on Ladson Road. My family of seven loves Chick-fil-A and are frequent patrons, but the location on Main Street can be cumbersome to get to. So when I found out a new Chick-fil-A was opening closer to our home, I couldnât have been more thrilled.
Unfortunately, since its opening, I couldnât be more disappointed. I have probably ordered from this location at least five times, and every single time, something has been incorrect with the order.
Today, after an outing with my family ran late and we needed something quick for dinner, Chick-fil-A seemed like the perfect choice. We decided to give the Ladson Road location another shot, but this time, we made sure to double-check our order. Everything went smoothly with our mobile order, and my wife even reviewed it, thinking she saw both a 12-count and an 8-count grilled nugget included. However, she was mistaken, and we didnât realize the missing item until we got home.
Considering this was $15 worth of food and a significant portion of our familyâs order, I decided to go back. When I arrived, I went through the drive-thru and reached the initial check-in with the employee using a tablet. I explained that I had placed a mobile order and that a large portion of it was missing. He assured me that he would notify the team up front via walkie-talkie, but I still had to wait in the drive-thru line for another 15 minutes before reaching the window.
During my wait, I noticed two Chick-fil-A employees off in the distance, standing in the parking lot and having a conversation. One of them was a blonde-haired woman wearing a green shirt named Lauren, whom I later learned was the manager. Perhaps if Lauren had been working inside the restaurant instead of engaging in an extended conversation outside, this location would have better order accuracy.
When I finally reached the front of the line, the team had no knowledge of my missing items. They took my receipt and told me they would take care of it, then asked me to pull forward. After another 10-minute wait, they brought out an 8-count fried nuggetâagain, not what was missing.
When they finally delivered my correct order, I let them know how much of my time this process had wasted and asked if they would issue a refund. The young woman who brought out the order flippantly said no, as if I were making an unreasonable request. Lauren had also walked over by this point, and I politely explained how many times I had received incomplete orders from this location. Often, the missing items were meals for our children, leaving us scrambling to find an alternative at home rather than making yet another trip back and also dollars wasted.
The entire ordeal, including drive time, took 45 minutes of my time. As a father of a family of seven, my timeâŚespecially on the weekendsâŚis incredibly valuable. That is precisely why we chose Chick-fil-A in the first place. Unfortunately, this location does not seem to prioritize efficiency or customer service and appears to believe it is immune to upholding the high standards Chick-fil-A is known for.
Perhaps if Lauren had been more focused on ensuring the restaurant was running smoothly rather than spending time outside, my orderâŚand likely many othersâŚwould have been correct the first time.
To be clear, I do not want Lauren or her team to face any repercussions regarding their jobs. However, I would like to see them improve. Is that not what we all pay Chick-fil-A prices for?
I donât see the prices at the Ladson Road location being any lower than at other locations, yet the service has been consistently subpar. I suppose my $95 was not of value to you. Until I find myself in a pinch, I will be heading back to Main Street. If I ever decide to give them another try, I hope they can finally get my order right. I would love to change this review because Chick-fil-A is known for its quality foodâŚbut at this location, the service leaves much...
Read moreI realize this location is new so I've tried to avoid writing this but I can't not write a review after today. This is the worst chick-fil-A of all time. I've been through the drive-through about 3 times now & 2 out of those 3 times, my order was messed up. One was during the morning shift where they completely got my order wrong and I had to go back through the drive-through to get it corrected because I didn't catch it in time. I was almost late for work. The 2nd time, the lady completely forgot my drink. I had to wave her down to get my drink. It's always very slow by chick-fil-a standards. By any standard honestly. I also went inside recently to avoid that crappy line on lunch break and they only had one person working the register who obviously didn't know what she was doing. There was only me and 1 other person in line and I waited for 10mins and didn't even get my order taken! The people in front of me didn't even get their order taken! NO ONE CAME TO THE COUNTER. A lady came up and said someone will be right with you but no one came. The manager on site should have stepped up and started working the counter. Today was the last straw however, I placed an online order and waited 1 hour and it still didn't leave the first phase of preparation... I tried calling them to see what the hold up was and couldn't even get anyone on the phone so I canceled the order. Now I've got $22 taken out of my account and I don't even know how long it's going to take to get it refunded. It's been bad experience after bad experience after bad experience with this new location. If my money isn't refunded soon, it's going to be another bad experience because I'm going to have to waist more time going up there to talk to a manager. Avoid this chick-fil-a at all cost until they get their act together. Huge disappointment. As much as I like Chick-fil-a, (and I do because I work outside and eat out a lot,) I won't be back to this location anytime soon. If ever again tbh. 4 of my 5 experiences since they've opened have been horrid. With that track record, I'd be...
Read moreThe food was amazing! Itâs chick fil a thatâs to be expected. However given the reputation chick fil a has amassed over the course if its opening you would expect the service as well as the atmosphere to be equally as reputable. I am sad to say it was far from that. I was send ahead of the line to wait for my food for almost ten extra minutes. While that was mildly bothersome the biggest irritant to me was when I saw a chick fil a worker in a green shirt who was being extremely rude to a door dasher. He clearly did not speak English and was confused on where to pick up his customers food. Instead of kindly redirecting him elsewhere he decided to go about it in a manner that is inexcusable. Telling him âyou canât come up here. You need to go in the other lineâ whilst shooing him away with his hands. And to end the interaction with his already harsh tone he said âyour orders not even ready anyway!â He clearly did not speak English so there should be an added level of patient which was unfortunately missed. I hope that the staff can learn to treat doordashers who are just trying to make a living better in the future. I was extremely disappointed watching that...
