China City — Restaurant in Summerville

I've moved to this area after living in NYC for the past 20yrs. Naturally I've been trying to find Chinese cuisine that came close to what I was use to up north. Naturally we checked views and based off the views me and my daughters tried 2 other locations and was not happy. So when we came to China City, we were skeptical. Well I must say, my first time at China City was awesome. Had I done a review then (1 year ago) they would have gotten 5 stars 🌟. However these past 6 months has been a little hit or miss. The food is still good. It's the mix-up in my order that has been disappointing. I don't live in the area. I actually live about 25 minutes away. So yes I travel for what I want when it comes to food. We order via phone call. Same order as always. However the last few months, the orders have been wrong. Yes I usually check my food before I leave, but the 2 or 3 times I don't check seem to be when the mix-up happens. They read back my order everytime, which is why i don't always check it myself. But lately, even then, there is chance the order is wrong. Thankfully the food is good and we make it work. However it is disappointing when you have your mind set on one thing and get something completely different. That is why I am giving a 4 star rating. (At the location I went to while in NYC, would show us our food before completely packing it up) I think i was spoiled a little with their service. I will be checking every time going...

Have been getting food from here for the past 4 years and have never had problems. I ordered delivery the other night and they messed up my order. They refused to refund for the mistake and only options were to accept the wrong food or wait on them to redeliver the correct food. Upon delivery of corrected order, the delivery “boy” refused to give me the correct food without me giving him the old food back. Gave him the old food back and still refusal to hand over my correct food. Had to take my food from him and escort him from my property. At that point, had the cops called on me for allegedly assaulting him. What a ridiculous situation for the restaurant to not initialy take care of situation, for the delivery “boy” to not give me the corrected food and to have the cops called on me!!! Wow!!! Will never eat here again and would highly recommend...

Typically my reviews are high-ratings and majority of the points is centered around the food.

First the good points: This is a great location in Summerville and close to the Stars & Stripes Bowling Alley inclusive to the Movies 8(Cinemark). The customer service is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable as a customer. It’s very clean and organized.

It’s plenty of space to sit down and eat or you can simply take out. This is also the 1st time I’ve seen delivery services offered but be aware it’s a $20.00 minimum or $30 pre-tax.

I ordered Shrimp Egg Foo Young with Pork Fried Rice. Unfortunately the rice looked and tasted mushy as if it was old, not freshly cooked at all. The brown gravy was below average in-taste and the egg patties wasn’t that seasoned.
