Well, for an opening weekend, this was the worst I’ve ever experienced from any food service company! Today we decided to give Summit a try, seeing so much good marketing on social media and from the brand itself! Horrible idea. With an hour between our planned event at another location in Summerville, we arrived to Summit! It was difficult to locate for somewhere having an opening but once there it looked like an amazing environment. This remained throughout. Once we walked in, we were greeted by no staff but by a mass of people waiting for their coffees, some stating “Hope you’re not in a rush, we’ve been here 30 minutes!” Exaggeration is what I believed it may be, so we continued believing some well-crafted caffeine might even be worth such! Wrong on both. We ordered with a price tag of $18 for two coffees (sweet cream cold brews). Not worth it, I believed, but it’s a newer location and the coffee must be high quality if all these people are here. Waiting, we see individuals continuously come in. Names are called often but no one comes up due to the online ordering promo on an opening weekend. Not the best idea with high volume of in person orders. Even worse idea with only ONE singular coffee machine and TWO coffee “crafters”. This continued on for the 45… 45 minutes we waited… meanwhile, the whole time we are watching the clock tick by telling us we will miss our event due to some overpriced, over exhausted coffee. This $18 trip of tragedy costing us our tastebuds upon retrieval (horribly bitter with no sweetness and no flavor which we threw out upon first taste), our desired and planned event, and our joy of a Sunday as the mindsets and attendance was shifted suddenly and extensively. So much better cafes to visit. Try any others you can find. Don’t submit...
Read moreOn Thursday, May 15, 2025,at approximately 1600 hours I, Dante G., responded to Summit Coffee located at 342 Brighton Park Boulevard, which is in the town of Summerville, county of Berkeley, and state of South Carolina, in reference to a heat related emergency.
Upon arrival, I entered through the outward opening ingredients door located on the B-side of the business. I approached the centrally located pointbof sale and was cheerfully greeted by the barista.
I was met by the barista, clad in a grey sweatshirt and denim shorts, who cheerfully greeted me. By first name. This is my third visit and she remembered my name. She definitley maxed out the customer service points.
I selected a Humankind AJ and ordered a large, iced, honey lavender latte. I love that Humankind calls apple juice AJ. I think it is an underused contraction. The honey lavender latte was made with whole milk and homemade syrup. The bar barista, clad in a purple shirt and slacks, quickly made my order and served it in a tall class with a tapered mouth. As visually appealing as the simple latte was, made with crushed ice, it tasted much better.
I sat in the quiet cafe and consumed the drink, listening to the dance music coming from the kitchen.
The heat related emergency was sufficiently diverted. I strongly suggest repeat visits, even if it isn't hot.

Read moreMy husband and I decided to try this new coffee spot in Summerville. We’re so glad we did! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, the food and drinks were amazing. The atmosphere was family friendly and relaxing. You might spend a tiny bit more depending on where you usually go coffee, but the ingredients are quality and everything was made with care. I appreciate the extra attention to quality ingredients and I am willing to pay a few cents more for that quality.
We knew it was their opening weekend, and so we anticipated meeting them with grace as they navigate operations. I’m disappointed to see the 1 star reviews in response to an establishment that just opened their doors and figuring out their rhythm. Having said that, everything was great! We opted to go in the afternoon.
The scones and croissants were both something to write home to mom about. AMAZING! Our drinks were fabulous too. We ordered a chai latte and homemade hibiscus berry lemonade. Nothing over sweetened. Our lemonade was missing a little more of that “lemonade” taste. When I mentioned it to the barista, she was quick to adjust it to my liking.
We will 100% be back. I can wait to try the rest...
