Giving this place a 2, and it's only for the aesthetics. I am really disappointed to have to rate this so low. I am also in disbelief because the place looked so promising. Heck, the reviews are outstanding. I was in the area and decided to grab lunch on my way home. I ordered the 3 piece box with a biscuit and a side of coleslaw. Came up to roughly $13. Let me tell you, the minute I opened the box of chicken (and something about the box told me everything I needed to know) I immediately noticed that the chicken looked like they were fried for way too long, almost burned-like. The color was dark compared to other reviews I saw. The chicken honestly had zero flavor, zero seasoning, and was dry. I still can not fathom that they sell this. The biscuit was spongy like it was a Pillsbury biscuit, not flaky. And the coleslaw, my goodness, was bad, too. I thought maybe it'd save the meal. But the slaw had no sweetness, more of a weird salty, vinegary flavor.
Management, what is going on in that kitchen? Please revamp your recipe to include some Lawry's and/or hot sauce. Something, please! The establishment is well thought out, but you missed the mark on the food. Thumbs down...
Read moreI enjoy going to local places to have a bite to eat whenever I travel. I decided to begin in my hometown of Summit, NJ at a place called #tonydoms Chicken with Attitude. Located on Springfield Ave, Marc Trujillo, the owner, wanted to start up his own place after being an executive chef in New York City in the late nineties. The name Tonydom is named after his two sons, Anthony and Dominic. Marc enjoys cooking and helping out his community by sponsoring events for local sports teams and catering to different businesses. The dining room is intimate, yet you still feel like you are family. I ordered two sandwiches, the Buffalo Chicken and the Chicken Biscuit drizzled with honey. Both sandwiches melted in your mouth. The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich was huge, three pieces doused with buffalo sauce, drizzled with ranch made the sandwich one of the best I have tried in a while. Next I went for the Chicken Biscuit Sandwich which was drizzled with honey, this definitely made me transported myself to the sands of South Carolina with that southern comfort food. I recommend giving...
Read moreI was excited to try a new place for lunch, but was incredibly disappointed.
The store LOOKS nice. Very clean and modern.
I ordered a 10 pc bucket. I expected at least 2 breasts for this price. Instead, I got 5 thighs and 5 drumsticks. Not a single breast! To make matters worse, it was REALLY greasy. The pieces at the bottom of the bucket were so slimy that they were inedible.
They charged $0.75 for each container of hot sauce. I was shocked that not one single sauce came with the bucket. That's a first.
I ordered biscuits and when I asked for butter, they said they don't have any. Seriously?!? $1.50 per biscuit and they were so dry that I couldn't even eat them. I'll try reheating later and adding butter.
The fries were good and a nice sized portion. They did give a free catsup container with them. But I wonder if it would have been $0.75 for an extra one.
I hate to say it, but even Popeyes and KFC are better than this place. And a fraction of the price! Terribly disappointed - especially for...
