I worked with Lotus of North Jersey for my Emira order and I made a great choice! At the start of this process, dealers didn't have a lot of information but the guys at Lotus of NJ were very straight forward about this, no made up stories or excuses. They were also very transparent and fair with their pricing. I was immediately comfortable placing a deposit with them.
It took me over 2 years and 7 months to get my car, all delays caused by Lotus UK. Throughout this process, Lotus of NJ kept me up to date to the best of their abilities - again, they didn't make up stories to tell me. If they didn't know something, they just said they didn't know. When they had info, they emailed/called/texted me immediately. I appreciate that honesty! It shows a level of maturity and confidence in a business that is the result of placing respect for their customers at the forefront of their operations.
Unfortunately, my car had issues straight off the boat. Here again, Lotus of NJ took their time to get the right parts and ensured that the car was perfect before handing it over to me. There are other dealers in the country that delivered cars to customers with known issues.
It's been a long journey - I could not wait to get the new Emira. I am so happy with the car as it is everything that I wanted, and much much more! Hearing some of the struggles of other buyers, I am so thankful that I picked Lotus of NJ to purchase from, despite living about 300 miles away. For anyone that is interested in a Lotus, and lives in the New England area, they should consider giving Lotus of NJ their business. The Emira was worth the wait, and Lotus of NJ was...

I canceled my GAP insurance, and the company sent the refund check back to them. But now, they’re refusing to help me process it, giving me the runaround every time I call. Getting through to anyone is nearly impossible, and on the rare occasion someone picks up, I’m promised a call back that never happens. It’s like they’ve completely ghosted me since I bought the car.
To top it all off, they botched my registration paperwork, writing the wrong car name. Now, I’m left fixing their mistake on my own time and money. This dealership is unprofessional and full of empty promises. Don’t trust these guys—they’re quick to make a sale, but when it comes to customer support afterward, they’re nowhere to be found.
Don’t worry—I’ll get my money one way or another. It’s just a matter of time before I come in and handle this myself.
Update: After my frustrating experience with this dealership, I have to give credit to Adelson. He was the only one who stepped up to help me when everyone else—Pete, Ray, and Nuno—gave me the runaround. I changed my review from 1 star to 3 stars only because of Adelson.
Adelson kept his word, followed up quickly, and kept me updated about the issue and thanks to him, things got resolved. If it weren’t for Adelson, I’d never consider...
Read moreThe car buying experience was spectacular. Pete didn’t rush me. Very nice dude. There was no back and forth on negotiations. I didn’t feel pressured or sense any sleezy car dealer tactics. Plus I wasn’t there over 2 hours which was great
But I wish I had read the previous review of the plates taking forever. I purchased my car in December and received the plates two months later. The engine light was on and Pete had agreed to get it serviced when I came to pick up the plates. Since that took forever and the car urgently needed an oil change, I had to go pay for that elsewhere. (I’m nowhere near this dealership)
This place would get a 5/5 if their post-sale experience improved. I’m not sure if my paperwork for my registration/plates was put on the back-burner but it was extremely inconvenient. Having my temp plates expire and being sent another set of temp plates after complaining. I prefer to be told up front they forgot to submit the paperwork rather than the typical “yes, they’re on the way” response call after call.
TLDR: don’t come here unless you’re okay with waiting around for plates...
