Never been to Sunnyside before, but had to make a day trip for something. We wanted a quick "breakfast item" so we could get back on the road. Saw the Google pictures of some pastry items in a display and figured this would do. Berry scone: hard, cold, had like 3 berries in it. Tasted like sourcream and bisquick mix. Not impressed. Apple turnover: tasteless awful. Worst pastry item I have ever had. Arbys is 100x better. Canned pie filling with some thin dough. Worst thing we tried. Litterally tasted like canned apple and pastry dough bought from the dollar store. Snickers cake: decent, the best thing we tried and the only reason why I went with a second star rating instead of one. Still nothing special though. Lemon berry bar: just meh. Very little flavor. When I asked about the peaches in the scone the worker said also canned fruit. I passed on it. We considered sitting for food but when we saw the nastiness of the grill area decided it was a hard no. For a breakfast place at 8:30am on a Saturday you would think it would be busy, but only one other customer was there. We found out why. Really we should have just left and spent way less money on some gas station donuts down the road. Worker had zero personality and when I asked what her favorite item was she had a deer in head light look. When you have new customers that say they have never been there before and ask what their favorite thing is for is to try... been enthusiastic and sell us! Make us spend money and want to come back. Make us want to tell our friends, family and google about how awesome this place is. Unfortunately that didn't happen even in...
Read moreSuper disappointed! We went here with hopes that we were going to have a great experience but unfortunately that was not the case. We got to the restaurant at 10:40 and sat in the back room. We didn't get menus until 11:04 to which she said we couldn't get breakfast and they stopped serving it at 11:00. After explaining how long we had been waiting she didn't care and just said "sorry" and walked away. There were people still getting their breakfast plates. So we stayed and ordered lunch. She finally came back at 11:20 to take our order. We ordered sandwiches and chicken strips and didn't even get our food until 12:05. The whole time we were waiting for our food our waitress disappeared. She didn't once come back and refill drinks or anything. Once we got our food she was gone again. Didn't once come check on us and see if we needed anything. Didn't refill drinks/waters anything. The food wasn't bad it was a little cold by the time we actually got it. It was decent for sandwiches but the service was unacceptable. The waitress was also not personable, not social and came off as unkind and unhappy. She had no answers to any questions we had. I hope it was a fluke but I'm also not sure if I want to spend the time and money to give it...
Read moreUnfortunately didn’t have a great experience here. When we walked in the owner was friendly and greeted us. That was nice. It was busy and the gals working were I think running for Ms Sunnyside, and probably not experienced with waitressing so we were very patient with them, they were very nice. However we waited a very long time for our food, so by the time it started coming out we were so hungry we started eating each others food. We were still waiting for 2 dishes and had finished our food and still didn’t get them. I asked how much longer it would be and apparently there was an issue with someone canceling their order and they thought it was ours (from what I overheard because I didn’t get an explanation). I asked to just pay for what we got since we didn’t want to wait any longer. At this point the owner was at the front counter with all the waitresses discussing what happened. We paid, I left a tip and left. Everyone was polite however no one ever apologized. Not the waitresses, not the cashier and not the owner. This was probably the most disappointing part since we were very patient and respectful the...
