I want to raise awareness about what I believe is an unethical billing practice at this restaurant. They appear to be rounding each customer’s bill by 1 cent and labeling it as a “discount.” While 1 cent may seem insignificant on its own, with 100s of customers per day, this can quietly add up to 700s—if not thousands—of dollars over time, potentially amounting to over $8,500 a year. Presenting this rounding as a discount is misleading and borders on deceptive practice. When I and a few other customers brought this up to the staff, they admitted they were aware and said, “It’s the system.” That doesn’t excuse the practice—it means the business has implemented a billing system that misrepresents charges, which is deeply concerning. Worse, when we tried to raise this with the manager, he became aggressive and defensive, asking us to step aside so others wouldn’t hear. He even began shouting, rather than addressing our concerns respectfully. This kind of behavior, especially when the issue involves potential fraud, is unacceptable. I strongly urge others to be cautious and review their receipts carefully. I also hope the management takes this seriously and stops this misleading billing approach before it draws the attention of regulatory authorities.

Falafel Stop is hands-down one of the best spots for fresh, flavorful Mediterranean food in the Bay Area. The falafel here is always crispy on the outside, warm and soft on the inside—clearly made fresh to order and seasoned perfectly. The pita is warm and fluffy, the hummus is smooth and rich, and the pickled vegetables give every bite a satisfying tang. What really sets this place apart is how fast and efficient the service is, even when the line is long (and it often is). They move quickly without sacrificing quality, and everything feels fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The portions are generous, and the prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality. Whether you go for a falafel plate, pita wrap, or shawarma, you really can’t go wrong. The outdoor seating area is casual but comfortable, and the entire experience feels like a hidden gem—laid-back, satisfying, and reliably delicious. This is the kind of place you find yourself craving again and again. Falafel Stop doesn’t try to be fancy—it just nails what it does best: great food, fast. An easy 5 stars.

I visited Falafel Stop during a busy weekend lunch rush and was impressed by the energy and atmosphere of the place. The parking lot was packed, and navigating it required a bit of patience. Once inside, I noticed the line to order was slightly confusing as it wound through another door in the center of the building. However, this minor inconvenience was quickly overshadowed by the friendly demeanor of the cashier, who made ordering a pleasant experience.

We decided to try the Jerusalem Mix on Hummus Plate, Grilled Chicken Kebab on Hummus Plate, and Shawarma on Hummus Plate. The staff preparing the food, along with what appeared to be the manager or owner, were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Their positive attitude added a welcoming touch to the dining experience.

The Jerusalem Mix on Hummus Plate stood out for its unique flavor, but I found the portion of meat slightly on the lighter side. The Grilled Chicken Kebab was tender and well-seasoned, though the raw onion taste was a bit overpowering for my preference. The Shawarma was flavorful and complemented the hummus beautifully.

All the dishes featured generous portions of creamy, well-made hummus, though they could benefit from a bit more meat to balance the plate. A surprising element was the inclusion of chopped pickles in the dishes. While initially unexpected, the pickles added a tangy twist that grew on me as I ate.

Overall, Falafel Stop delivered a satisfying meal with vibrant flavors and a friendly ambiance. While the portions of meat could be more substantial and the ordering process streamlined, the quality of the food and the warmth of the staff make it worth a visit. If you're in the mood for Mediterranean cuisine and don't mind a bustling setting, Falafel Stop is a great choice for a...

UPDATED REVIEW: I returned to Falafel STOP in 2024 - and loved it this time around!

So good I kept coming back day after day! 😆 This has THE BEST Mediterranean Food in town.

The first time I visited the experience was so chaotic that I could not appreciate the food...

But the food is actually super incredible.

I highly recommend the Jerusalem Mix Plate.

You will not regret it!

It's healthy! it's fresh! it's so delicious!

They make the pita bread fresh on site!

I recommend ordering extra pita bread for just an extra $1. Totally worth it!

The portions are significant and I usually get three meals out of one plate.

2022 Review: 2 Stars First time there. I found it chaotic and confusing. Workers seem unhappy. I did not get what I thought I had ordered. The man making my plate in front of me did not really pay attention to what I wanted, so not sure why I went through the process of watching him make my plate - if he wasn't caring or paying attention to my input on the way I wanted my plate. I was very confused by the counter service. The ordering "window" / "counter" was hard to figure out. Woman screaming what appeared to be "next" out of the "Order Here" window. But wasn't actually taking orders. The "Pick Up" counter was chaotic. BTW. Even though the Sauces at the Pick Up counter are RIGHT in front of your face with spoons to scoop into the tiny to-go sauce containers - and appear to be presented for you to serve yourself - But Don't touch them! It's actually not there for you to serve yourself 😐 Again: Confusing. Chaotic. I'll go again maybe. But even my plate was a big chaotic mess. Been curious for YEARS to try this place out. UPDATE: Searching for a more pleasant ordering Falafel...

For starters, I really wanted to like this place since I like falafels and thought this spot looked cool and had a nice vibe to it. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my experience and will not be back.

Just walking in, there were like three lines which was confusing, with no signs placed intuitively to indicate where to order. For example, they do have a sign for "CASHIER" but it's places in between two doorways, both with their own registers inside so you kinda just look at it like '???'. That was not really that big of a deal though, it was once I entered the line to order that my issue started.

So after wandering around like a dope for a sec, I get to the front of the line where the cashier is so I can place my order. The lady looks at me, makes eye contact as if she's going to help me, and then turns around and walks out of the register to help two dudes that walked-in to pick up an order behind me. It's like she just looked right through me and pretended I wasn't there. At that point, I got fed up with the place and left.

I get that restaurants get busy and stuff, but this place is a mess. The prices are decent though and the food does genuinely look good. However, because of this experience, I will not be returning and hope this place improves it's service and layout. Time is money and you guys wasted mine; please do better for...
