The food we got ... chicken fried rice, green bean chicken and fried wonton with sweet and sour sauce... was really good. Tasty. The problem was the female cashier. When we arrived at 8:00pm. I asked her if we can eat inside. They close at 8:30pm. She slid a menu to us and said ok. After a few minutes ... I ordered at the cash register. Usually she would wait on us, give us water and hot tea but tonight she did not. I went back to counter and asked for iced water. She slammed a glass on the counter. I said, there is 2 of us... can I please get another water... again a glass was slammed on the counter with a huff and puff. I had to ask for hot tea. She said ... "oh you're eating here?" She gave a rude look and went to kitchen area. Male gave us hot tea and was way nicer to us... but damage control was not over since the female cashier slammed food down and still mad i guess, so she continuously glared at us while we tried to eat our food, but we decided to pack it all up and go since we were given the "stink eye." Eating comfortably was no longer an option. That female cashier was rude and mad at something. Didn't appreciate the attitude... I paid $38+ for 3 items, didn't need anymore from them. We enjoyed the food, not the service so much, so sadly, 3 stars it is.

I was in Downtown Sunnyvale and decided to swing by King Wah to grab dinner as I had seen others in a local foodies group give it high marks for authenticity. I grabbed some old favorites: Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice, Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, and Mapo Tofu. They were all really good. In particular the fried rice and Mapo Tofu (not super spicy for those with low tolerance). The shrimp with lobster sauce wasn't quite what I expected as it had celery, onions and bell pepper. This was a dish my dad used to cook often and his didn't have all of the extra veggies. So, the issue was more with my expectations than the dish itself. I will definitely be back to try more dishes! Service was very quick (order ready in 15 minutes) and they take GPay (as well as Apple Pay). Lucky for me as I had my phone, but had forgotten my wallet at home.

It has been awhile since we took our parents here. We always get our "usual." It includes chow mein, kung pao chicken, fried rice and lemon chicken. For a lunch stop, I thought it be quick serve (pre-prepped food) but since it took about 20 minutes, it was fresh made. The combination chow mein came out, the noodles were perfect, the meat and veggies had a nice texture, tasty not salty sauce. Kung pao chicken came, good balance of spice, even my parents were ok with it. There is an option to add more spice on the table. Then fried rice and lemon chicken came out to round out our meal. The rice was addictive as well as the lemon chicken. It was a nice meal. Service was efficient. We got tea and a refill. We had leftovers (servings were generous) which made a nice meal at dinner time.

Very expensive.

The server never greeted me. When she took the order, I asked if they had brown rice to go with my kung pao chicken. She said yes and I ordered it. I asked for hot tea.

She brought tea that was luke warm. They have no artificial sweetener and she didn’t bring sugar for some time. The tea was too cold to even drink.

The meal came with white rice. I pointed it out to her and reminded her I ordered brown. She said they don’t have brown rice.

She hurried away, never returned so I couldn’t ask again for hot tea.

The kung pao was very bland. There was a fair amount of chicken but no real flavor to this spicy dish.

She didn’t actually give me a bill, so I don’t know if the extra $5 included charges for the tea, white rice or both. No thank you or good...
