On Sunday, just before 1pm, my parents and I decided to visit Legends Tavern and Grille for lunch. I'd eaten food from them once before but through UberEats. The food delivered was delicious, but there was a mix up at the restaurant and my order was cancelled by the Uber driver without communication. When I called to find out about why it was cancelled, I was told it was an Uber problem and to call them in a very rude way. Not impressed with the service here. At all.
This time I went to the restaurant to eat to give them a second chance since I enjoyed the food and the order I made was during the aftermath of Irma. When we entered the restaurant, it was practically empty (which should have been a tell from the get go), and there was no one there to greet us or seat us. We seated ourselves. The waitress didn't appear for at least five minutes. When she did, she was very abrupt to where she was almost rude. If she smiled, she'd have cracked her face for sure! She barely came over to check on us or if we needed refills. We had to wait forever for her to come back with the take out box.
The food was no better than some place we could have gone for a lesser price. Some of their prices are WAY too high and maybe they do that to make up for not having a heavy traffic flow, which is pretty bad since they're on a main road and it was midday Sunday. A burger, a pork sandwich, and chicken fingers came out to a little over fifty bucks. Ridiculous! And what restaurant charges an up charge to toss your chicken fingers in buffalo sauce? Every restaurant we have ever ask that from before has never charged for that. They're using maybe two tablespoons to do that, and to them that's worth a $1? I'll run over to Publix next time and buy a bottle of Buffalo sauce for three bucks for you to do that in and take home the rest and still won't have paid as much. They had lobster mac n cheese on the menu that was priced at $23 and I doubt it was worth that.
Definitely not a place I will be returning to or ordering from again. The overall experience was lacking and left a bad taste in all our mouths. My parents were not impressed either. I know they have multiple locations so I will say this is the one in Sunrise off Oakland Park and Nob Hill. Perhaps the others are better, but this one was terrible. I would be surprised if they remain in business for a long time unless they change up their attitudes and offer better prices for...
Read moreI never ever write bad reviews but the experience I had at legends left such a bad taste in my mouth that I just need to share. I’ve ate here before and I fell in love with the food and service I had and I went and told all my friends and family to eat there and they did. The reviews were mixed but all the negative comments were about one specific lady that I just so happened to deal with today. I wasn’t able to get her name but she’s an older white woman with brown/ Auburn shoulder length hair. I came In to legends expecting the same great service I had from my first time but I was sadly mistaken about this spot. I ordered a bacon burger with sweet tea and the older lady who was behind the bar called out my name so I can pick up my food and pay. Right from the start she was very snippy and rude. I was giving her my total to pay for my food and I was a couple cents short. I went in my bag to hand her the rest of my change and MORE as a tip because as someone who comes from the service industry I always tip no matter what. As I am about to give her the rest of the change and her TIP she cuts me off says “ I have change, goodbye” and walks off leaving me with my change in my hands…. I don’t know if she just assumed I didn’t have money? Or she was having a bad day? but i felt extremely offended. Then I check my food and their wasn’t any bacon in my BACON burger and the meat was cooked far under what I wanted leaving me to not want to eat it at all. I also asked for a sweet tea and my tea was unsweet, just like the service. I’m extremely upset that I spent almost $30 for horrible service and food I didn’t feel comfortable eating. Super disappointed in this place, was hoping this could be my new spot but...
Read moreAvoid this location! I stopped by because I was in the area. I figured all the locations would be more or less the same but I could not be more wrong. I love legends and I'm a regular at the Plantation location so I had high expectations for other locations. I ordered my usual which was the chicken chili and wings. The chicken chili looked completely different and tasted like it was over cooked/burnt and didn't taste good. Even though restaurants have different cooks they should still follow the same recipe and it was not at all the same and shouldn't have the title of award winning chicken chili. I then ordered wings as my dinner and asked for all flats as I usually order and clearly states on the menu as an option and the server advised me they don't do that there.. Luckily the wings tasted ok. The celery they provided was just the white ends nothing green about it. Feels like the way that location is managed is just sloppy and they seem ok with subpar food and service. Even the Mahi fingers my father ordered weren't battered the same and not the same size they were smaller. Wont be coming back to that location ever and won't ever even think of cheating on my Plantation...
