First visit: Food and service was adequate but nothing to rave about. Gluten-free options were very slim but the manager was quick to help me confirm that my meal choice was safe for me to eat. We enjoyed the atmosphere. Second visit: Hostess was friendly and bubbly. Food was adequate again and still no good options for gluten-free, but I was able to safely eat a good meal (raw oysters, salmon and veggies). Service was friendly but poor this time. Bar drinks were good; we asked for water with ours but only got it after we finished our drinks and asked a second time. Our bill listed a charge for bottled water, yet we were served glasses of iced water and never saw a bottle nor specifically requested bottled. When we questioned the server about it, she explained that the local public water supply is so bad that they can't serve it. But our water was in glasses filled with ice, I'm assuming the ice was made with local water. So it seemed kind of shady; maybe bringing a chilled bottle and an optional glass of ice out would be a better way to go about that, which would also give guests a clue to expect a charge ($3 each) for the water. If I decided to operate a restaurant in an area with undrinkable water, I would consider the provision of a suitable alternative for such a basic necessity of life to be part of the cost of responsibly doing business. But I suppose that hospitality isn't what it used to be anymore. There won't be a third visit update. I always try to support small local independent businesses, but this place seems to be operated by people who can't see the beach for all the waves.

Party of 6. We loved our experience despite 3 problems. Was not to busy either. We ordered calamari and cold boiled shrimp both were delicious. We were wanting Rockefeller oysters but were informed they had run out of oysters. We also asked for Modelo especial and again informed us they were out. The tables are high (not the problem) but no high chairs (yeah that's a pretty big problem). My daughters are extremely picky eaters and both loved their plates the spaghetti and fettuccine my oldest just nibbles throughout the day but finished 2 yes 2 spaghetti plates. My 2 yr. old son had the chicken tenders and loved his plate after the tenders were gone he ate the gravy with a spoon. The children plates are $7 but definitely not kid servings. My husband and I both had the filet with 3 shrimp the red snapper was cooked to perfection moist and tender, sauteed veggies with just a bit again perfect shrimp was breaded and grilled and just a bit of crunch another plus. My 14 yr. old had the jumbo shrimp he said it was ok the mash potatoes tasted like it was a whole potato baked in the oven then mashed again perfection. Our waitress came probably 15 times to check on us and evertime I lifted my finger up she came straight over immediately I believe her name was Olivia. The sunset is wonderful to watch while eating. We drove almost an hour to get there and was very pleased. Hope to return one day.

Incredibly crazy experience for a family of 14. We were seated immediately and our drink orders were taken shortly after. Bar drinks came pretty quick but it was around 20 min for our bottled waters and canned sodas to arrive ($3 each). We were still happy campers. She finally took our order and 1 hour later we still didn’t have the 1 appetizer we had ordered much less our 10 entrees. We finally asked and she came back and said there was a to-go order placed in front of us so that is why it is taking so long. 1.5 hrs into being seated…. The appetizer came out. 15 min later… our food plus 1 extra Philly cheesesteak. Food was good. The manager let us know that the server had not sent our order to the kitchen…. That’s what caused the wait. That’s fine… things happen… people forget… but this poor server needs to find a place where management backs her up and takes care of their customers. We were offered free dessert and the 1 extra Philly he had boxed up. After more complaining…Take note of the receipt… we also got 10% off our food. The least they could have done was given us the water bottles for free. Evan, manager, told us we could let the owner, bob, know about it tomorrow. Food was great…. Once we got it. I hope this gets to ‘bob’ and things can get ironed out. It could be a really cool place.

There is a lot of potential for this place. We've lived down here for a year and passed this one up until this past Saturday night (3.18.2023). We had guests in town and decided to try it because of the view. We arrived about 7:30 p.m. and we're greeted nicely and seated a party of 6 right away. Maybe a clue? Great seat by the window... loved the view. Enjoyment ended there.

Most unpleasant? Live music was way too loud for an out of tune guitar and singer that had one style. He had a cheering section that stopped every other table's conversation with their overly loud whaling at the end of every song. Honestly, if it weren't so loud and that one table wasn't there, it would have been tolerable. Maybe.

Lighting was harsh and flickering. Definitely need to replace the flourescent bulbs with something softer - and that doesn't flicker.

Soft drinks and water were served in cans and bottles with cups of ice. Okay, we can live with that in a place where the water is not drinkable from the tap. Waitress was nice, but didn't see her much after we got the order in. Waited 40 minutes for dinner to be served and it came out wrong. Had to send po'boy back as we asked for catfish and it came out as shrimp. The two that ate fish and shrimp in our party were sick all night and the next day.

Hamburger was good. But regardless of how it was ordered, it came out medium well. I can live with that. However, wouldn't recommend Philly cheese steak loaded fries. They apparently ran out of waffle fries and substituted a few regular fries (about 10 of them) covered them with what tasted like ballpark queso. Mac n cheese was pretty good.

We're not big crawfish eaters, but one table seemed to be digging into them - so maybe they are good. There are a couple of other choices on menu for both surf and turf items.

Lots of potential for this place, but as it was, only those that were 4 or 5 drinks in were enjoying it. One table actually sat, got menus, and then got up and left. Maybe price? Music?

While we often allow three strikes before never going back to a place, this $150 visit counted as two. And certainly, would never bring an out of...

Place is a decent location but the owner and service are severely lacking on communication skills and customer service. Went here for family members 21st birthday ready to throw down some cash for dinner and lots of drinks but ended up just wasting my money and time. Was told by the hostess it would be a 45 - 60 wait and that we could go downstairs and drink at that bar whist we wait if we wanted, which we did and spent plenty of cash. They have a fair amount of games and things to keep you occupied for a while so after waiting over an hour we decided to check status for eating. We were told they weren't seating anyone else that night due to a party of 60 just arrived. I was irritated to say the least. I know who the owner is from staying in Surfside for many years and remember when he moved into that big house before he built the restaurant/bar onto it. So I went and asked him what the deal was. (He hangs out and drinks and smokes cigarettes there like he's a customer) He proceeded to give me multiple excuses (he was pretty buzzed) on why we couldn't be seated (all bs). He told me this party had been booked for days. I asked him why anyone didn't care to tell me that when I asked for a table instead of sending me downstairs to spend my money for over an hour?! He then tried to tell me they didn't know the party was coming and that they had to cut off seating people. (Get your story straight!) The owner never offered an apology or even a what can I do to fix this for you. Then started to get cocky with me and told he would go get a manager to take of this. (right after telling me he's the owner!) I used the toilet before I left and there wasn't even any toilet paper and the trash was overflowing. Every beer that I was served whilst waiting was warm and after about 30 minutes the bar tender disappeared, the underage bar helper kept asking us if we had been served (waiting for more alcohol) and even he shook his head in disappointment. Place is a mess. This is not the only place in Surfside to go eat/drink on the beachfront and there are much cooler and more customer friendly places to go. Skip this place. Such a...

Wow so this place could be so great if the owners cared about their customers. I heard nothing but bad reviews from everyone we talked to around the beach. We went on a Saturday. Was told the kitchen was behind but they sat us and we had some drinks, no worries. First thing was the drinks were not the same as the picture they showed on the menu. Way smaller! Second, the rumrita was disgusting. I watched the male bartender pouring behind the bar and he had absolutely no idea what he is doing. Needs training for sure. Then we ordered 2 lbs of crawfish with corn and potatoes for my daughters, they never got the corn and potatoes but also only got like 8 crawfish a piece. They are huge crawfish but that wasn’t even food for one person much less 2. My younger kids got Mac n cheese and it is so bland and taste like chlorine. My friends got boudin balls and I’m from Louisiana, those were horrible. So dry and just bread. They charged a gratuity on $33 for 4 kids and 2 adults and our meal total was $220. Like we didn’t even get enough food and had to go refresh the kids after we left and that’s insane for $220. Talked to the owner and he said we are the only people they have ever complained so it’s just us. I told him I wasn’t expecting a refund but that I wanted to let him know how terrible it all was. He didn’t seem to care at all. They had a guy standing up there singing bad karaoke the entire time we were there. Then outside it was even worse cause the people in the band couldn’t sing either. It gave us bad anxiety and we just wanted to leave. Then went to leave and the owner had 2 massive dogs at the door just right by everyone. I’m deathly afraid of big dogs from being attacked by one and to me that’s just not ok to have them literally at the door when you walk in and out. After talking to people on the beach, everyone was talking about how terrible this place is and how terrible the owner is. That they just don’t care about customers at all. It’s sad because it seriously could be an awesome place. They know they can just get the tourist crowd and they just don’t care how they...
