McDonald's — Restaurant in Surprise

It's a McDonald's, overall, no better or worse than any other McDonald's in terms of food & service.

The main draw for this location, is the indoor play place. However, at this location, the indoor play place smells like a garbage dumpster ... full of rotting meat ... sitting in the Arizona sun ... in July.

It is horrible! I kid you not, it smells like rotting raw meat. You can smell the PlayPlace all the way at the soda fountain station. When the doors to the play place open, half of the dining room is overcome by the smell of rotting meat.

When I brought this to the attention of the shift manager (a young, very tall, very slender African American woman) she said "it smells like sweaty kids and smelly feet." I assured her that as an expirenced mom it smells nothing like sweaty kids or smelly feet, it smells like rotting meat.

She advised me they clean it daily, which clearly cannot be the case, and that it is up to parents if they want to let their kids play in there. I suggested there might be a health problem that arises from letting kids play in there, and that they should shut it down to investigate the source of the smell & clean it.

She was not interested in my suggestion, or in remedying the situation. I worry about the kids who were playing in there, and I don't know what their parents were thinking to let them in there.

Ordered breakfast via mobile order @ 10:18am. Headed there immediately and was in the drive-thru lane around 10:25am. Had to wait for cars in front of me before I got to the speaker exactly at 10:30am. Gave the woman on the speaker my code and was told to pull around.

At the first window the worker said that breakfast was over and I would only be provided my lunch items (A drink in this case). Kept saying sorry but offered no help beyond that. In disbelief I pulled to the next window just to be handed a single drink and "sorry, that's it"

After that I parked and went inside which the first manager wasn't really of much help. However, Olivia appeared and the only reason this review is 2 star and not 1. She saw that I ordered at 10:18, that my receipt was marked 10:31 when I got to that first window and said "I don't know why they didn't just make it." She offered to make everything herself now at 10:40ish. Said it would take a couple minutes to fire up the items to make it. I waited and she did it all. A refund was even offered since a couple items were made incorrectly but I declined.

The 5 star rating on service is for Olivia alone. She saved breakfast for the kids who really wanted MCD hash browns this morning.

If you want your food fast then this is the perfect place! But if you want workers who are rude, ignorant, and all around doing a half-assed job, then you got that too! I have only met two workers here who are nice. One morning guy who's sweet and professional, and another girl who has amazing nails, a nice smile, and a calm demeanor most of the time. Anyone else here is a teenager who has an attitude worse than a two year old child, or an older teenager with an even worse attitude than that. They are always mad at each other. They practically throw my order at me sometimes, and I again emphasize THE ATTITUDE. I have worked fast food, minimum wage, and other jobs just to get by. Customer service jobs are hard. Especially fast food, but there's a difference between making a mistake and hiring the worst people around. I would not have even CARED, because I get what I pay for, but when I lost my voice and they got my order wrong, they took advantage of the fact that I literally could not speak up. I can only imagine what other people might feel who have permanent conditions that make things like ordering or getting food difficult, and the fact that they took advantage of my inability to fight back is sickening. There's something really wrong with how this McDonald's is managed and it needs to be fixed. I'll be at the McDonald's the next road down from now on....
