This past Sunday night I stopped in about 630 and ordered a soda and double cheeseburger. Typical with teens, the girl at the pickup window did not say or even attempt to mumble any acknowledgement. Oh well. Half of the teens in West Bend are the same way. Management refuses to instill manners and courtesy that parents didn't do either. But what upset me was a mile down the road I took a bite and the burger was cold. The next night I went back, I work 12 hours and drive 40 minutes each way, and wanted supper on the road. Burger actually just came off the grill. But had the same lack of courtesy from a second girl. Not a single word spoken. Wednesday night I was thirsty, so stopped for a soda and decided to get a double cheeseburger to tide myself over. Third girl. Hands me my soda and shuts the window with neary a word. She then goes back to texting on her phone. After a minute or so she opens the window and asks me to pull forward, it will be a bit. I pull forward and a minute later the car behind me also pulls forward. Which was strange since no one was behind them. 2 to 3 minutes later the same girl comes out with 2 bags. She hands 1 to the car behind me and then the other to me. I forget what she said, but she did respond with some proper comment. I was just thinking, at least I have a hot burger. Shame on me. Never assume. I get on the road and grab the burger. The bun feels hard. I take a bite. It is hard and the burger is even colder than Sunday night. It seemed like it was sitting on a counter for an hour or more. I responded on McDVoice for both Sunday and Wednesday, but then figured I would respond here also. I then saw tonight that they close at 7. So they probably cook things up at 6 so that they can clean up and leave at 715. I love stopping early mornings. The gal on the window Monday to Friday is excellent. Afternoon/night shift can learn a lot from her. And I agree with previous posts. I left 1 time after 12 minutes. ONE car had their order taken. There was not a line from the window to the speaker. Other times it has moved a little faster. When I got to the window, you can see 3,4,5 people just standing around talking, holding their phones, and the thumb of their other hand up their.......... Never again at night unless I'm desperate for a soda,...
Read moreI have lived in this community for over 20 years and have been in this Mc Donalds several times over the years. I have also penned a letter to the McDonalds corporate headquarters regarding my experiences.
First, the place really, REALLY needs to get cleaned up. Tables are dirty and the play area looks as if it hasn't been cleaned up for months.
Second, the service has been consistently poor for years. A few examples: ---I went to order chicken sandwiches via the drive-thru a few years ago. I checked the bag and there were 3 sandwiches in wrappers in the bag...or so I thought. I get home, we open the wrappers and we have buns, with lettuce tomato and mayonnaise....and no chicken! No kidding! I went back and was given 3 sandwiches that contained the required main ingredient. Sad part is....2 months later that same thing happened AGAIN (seriously, you can't make this stuff up)! ---As a result of the above, plus the lack of cleanliness of the place, I avoided going there for some time. A couple weeks back I went to get a Happy Meal for my granddaughter (McNuggets, fries and a milk). I thought I will go in to make sure the order is correct and get it fixed right away if not. So I order the meal and some other stuff and the bill comes to $7.84. I give the young lady working behind the counter a $10 bill and 4 pennies. She looks at the money, puzzled and opens the cash drawer...and proceeds to give me change in the amount $2.12. Yep, that's right. I told her, "Uh, no you got that wrong" and she replys, "No I didn't". So I had to do the math for her...she looked at me like I was making it up but finally gave me the $2.20 I was owed....with no apology or admission she was wrong. Now to the order...a milk was ordered to go with the Happy Meal and what a shock...no milk in the box. I said, "I didn't get the milk", to which she replied, "Did you order one?" "Uh, yeah....that's why I'm looking for it." She gives me the milk and again...no apology or admission she might have screwed up.
Do yourself a favor...if you are in the area and really want something from McDonald's, go to the one in Pewaukee on Capitol Drive about 2 miles south...
Read moreWhen your children are bouncing off the walls and complaining of hunger in between bounces, just when you think you can't take the never-ending harassment of the tiny army you've created, on the horizon appears the golden arches of McDonald's in Sussex Wisconsin! Complete with friendly staff (even though some look 12), a drink station people seem to keep spilling soda all over, and above and beyond, most important than anything else at all.... AN INDOOR PLAYGROUND! YES! You heard it right, in a world where McDonald's with playgrounds get farther and fewer, this location does in fact have an indoor hamster maze inspired playground for children of all ages (over 2 or 3 probably, and I think younger than old enough to not play on a kid's playground). You can order your children little boxes packed with fried food and sugar water complete with a golden smile on the side and sit back and relax while your children bounce among their fellow sugar infused hamsters instead of on your head. Enjoy the wifi and McCafe while your children work tirelessly to exhaust themselves into a fully compliant stupor. Have a little one who needs a potty? There's one conveniently located in the room the hamster maze is in. Worried your child may wander away? Have no fear, there's only one non-alarmed door in this room and it goes to the counter! So now you don't have to divert your attention in more than one direction for fear that your child may escape. Should your children be old enough that they know not to wander, you can relax and catch up on the news while the pack of children running through the hamster maze adopt laws and behavior relative to Lord of the Flies. Definitely a family friendly environment we try...
