When I originally came to this place the first time, our experience was good. In particular, I had their pork ribs and chicken special they offer every Tuesday night. Since then, I have wanted that again but due to management being unable to stock reasonably, I make the trip there (which is about 25 minutes) to find out when I order that they are out of ribs. Ok, I can understand that once in a while. But every time since (5 times) I have either come there expecting to be able to order the ribs and told there were none, or I would call ahead to ask if they have them and arrive only to find out they did not. I opted to call ahead and ask for an order to pickup (at 6:15pm) and were told they were out. Being a business owner, I would be keenly aware of what my clientele is asking for and make sure I have what they want so I can sell it to them and make money. On rare occasions they may not be able to secure enough, but that would only motivate me to find it from another supplier if it was me doing the buying. Now, we could get into the debates about what suppliers have good ribs and who doesn't. But I can assure you there is more than one place that can provide good quality ribs. And if it means your costs go up, then so be it. A dollar or three isn't going to deter anyone that comes there looking for a good product that they've had in the past. In the end, I am sufficiently frustrated with this bar's management not being able to solve the problem. It is doubtful I will return as they have consistently told me they don't have anymore, and cannot solve their own problem. A real shame considering those ribs were some of the best I have had...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a storm in our area earlier in the day and didn't have power so we took a long drive. We got hungry and decided to stop for a quick bite to eat, nothing fancy maybe a sandwich. We had never been to Rumors before so we asked the waitress what was good. She mentioned that was Smokehouse Special night (Tuesday) She said they are famous for their ribs. (Doesn't everyone) well I can't pass up ribs so I tried them and they were the best ribs I have ever had. They have a dry rub on them and they give you bbq sauce on the side. The ribs were huge, very tender. We went back a couple of weeks later I think on a Saturday and got the prime rib. Another one knocked out of the park! This has become one of our favorite places to eat. I also want to mention the service. The waitress both times were very nice. We also met the person that made the ribs she brought my boyfriend a sample of the gravy for biscuits and gravy he said it was amazing so I'm sure we will go back for that. :) The atmosphere is very friendly. The food worth every penny. Update we have gone back with friends a few more times. Twice the ribs just weren't the same. They were tough. Idk if they have different cooks some of the time because it's hit and miss for us. It will be a while...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne of us had the Mexican Thursday special. The chicken chipotle burrito. The burrito was packed with cubed potatoes. So disgusting. Tiny little pieces of chicken. Like barely any chicken at all. Nothing else. No lettuce, tomato, cheese, rice, peppers. Just potatoes. $15.00 for that! Iāve given you guys like eight chances and only because Sussex doesnāt have many options. The picture on the right is from google images. Thatās what itās supposed to look like. I had the prime rib sandwich and it was good. A very disappointing night out for a $60.00 bill because one of us left saying it was the grossest thing heās ever eaten. No I did not tell our server Austin because I could tell from the beginning he wasnāt the type to care. I also asked if you had cherry vodka and you didnāt. Five minutes later I see the other bartender use raspberry vodka. That would have worked. I wish Austin would have gone a little above and beyond and recommend another option. I always say, if you wouldnāt eat it,...
