The Promenade Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Swatara Township

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Came across this place on a Google search as we were passing through the area. Went in around 3:30 pm for dinner and it wasn't too busy. Menu was huge which actually worried me that maybe it was too large. Our party of 4 each ordered something different. Service was more than outstanding. Our waiter was kind, patient and very attentive. One of our party was disabled and had to use special utensils that we brought along. Our waiter not only kept very close attention to our table he even offered to take the utensils we brought back in the kitchen and had them washed for us. The food was outstanding and felt 100% homemade. Food arrived very quickly as well. We are absolutely stopping here again when we are back through the area. My family LOVED it here. The hubby an I went once for the first time about two months ago for breakfast, GREAT experience!! We just decided to have lunch there on Wednesday, and we had the BEST experience!! Service was amazing, food was great, atmosphere was QUIET and very calm. The crab cakes were BANGIN and the chili?! HA!! We took a bowl to go! We finished that bowl for lunch the next day and I just had to go back, so we went for dinner, and this time, our children were with us, not just the baby...another amazing server, so kind and very attentive to our children. She was very polite and even complimented me on our way out about our children's behavior and manners 😍 Every parent LOVES hearing that so, more brownie points!! Did I mention we got the chili to go again?!

I usually only give diner reviews. Occasionally I will give other reviews. We are living in a world where the American Family Restaurant is dying. It is being replaced with Kebab joints and Sushi houses, no lie, I love both. But we need diversity and the Family Restaurant needs to be resuscitated. The Promenade is such a restaurant. It serves American Food and items typically found in Pennsylvania style eateries. The environment is simple and warm. The waitresses are local. The bathrooms are clean.
