I came here with a friend to enjoy some food and music. While we were waiting for our order, we danced together, nothing inappropriate, just vibing to the music. Out of nowhere, security asked us to leave, and then someone claiming to be connected to the owner pulled me aside and started lecturing me.
I was told I brought “shame” by dancing with a man, especially someone of a different race and that it would be embarrassing if my father heard about it. I was honestly shocked. It felt very targeted, especially because other couples around us were hugging, kissing, and dancing more intimately without being bothered.
What really bothered me is that I know this wouldn’t have happened if I were a male relative of theirs dancing with a girl. The double standards and selective judgment were loud and clear.
