Polka Dot Bakery — Restaurant in Sycamore Township

On August 25th I ordered a unicorn cake of pastel colors ( colors blue purple and pink ) first it was very hard to even get in contact with these people. When I finally did it was via Facebook. I figured if I send them pictures of what I wanted they would give me exactly that. I ordered a one tier unicorn cake with PASTEL colors. When I received the cake it was TEAL, DARK PURPLE AND DARK HOT PINK !!! Also we spoke about gold eyelashes as well as gold horn . The eyelashes were black and the cake itself was a cream color!!! I was in a rush so of course I just purchased the cake . But then I was almost in an accident and called them crying because the cake was not totally smashed but the frosting (which was totally the wrong color anyways!!! Got smushed so I asked them if they would fix it and the lady was just laughing and said she wasn’t able to fix this ! The customer service when I walked in was amazing but the minute I had a problem with anything else they acted like the most stuck up individuals . looking to just make money. I literally asked specifically for a pastel unicorn cake and still had the pictures saved in the messages back and fourth between us and the lady continued to laugh. It’s like I said unicorn and they just decided to do whatever the heck they wanted whatever colors ! Ridiculous and horrible I would never reccomend these people to ANYONE! In my opinion their customer service was FAKE AND HORRIBLE BECAUSE THEY CANT DEAL PROPERLY WITH CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS ! And laugh as if you’re a joke !!!! Never ever again no one order from this place I had many people tell me not to go here and I thought I’d trust them on my daughters big day! Worst mistake ever !!!! Polkadot Bakery is top notch. The owner does all that she can to ensure that every dessert creation is perfection. You will not be disappointed with any of the desserts she makes. Not only are they works of art, but they taste amazing also! Polkadot also sells their cookies at our local Hy-Vee along with Kuiper's family farm. Their hours may appear limited, but there are ways to get around this. I always make sure to keep up with their Facebook page for updates, Instagram, and message them with any special requests well in advance. This place is so cute and definitely passed the vibe check! The staff is so friendly and gave me good intel on the town as we're new to the area. The cookies are AMAZING. I just assumed you can't get cute cookies that taste good ... either theyre ugly and taste great.... or they taste awful or are too hard and crumbly and are really cute... so I feared our personalized cookies would be hard because they're soooo adorable.
