I've never been so pleasantly surprised. This is the first place in Alabama that has matched anything like what we had in Bloomington, IN, good beer and good pizza. The beer selection was ~30 brews with a healthy smattering of diversity from IPAs to Porters, Sours to Pilsners, lots of South Eastern breweries on tap as well as the classics if you want a cheap pint while hanging with friends. This place is also the first brewery I've ever been to that had a Gingerbeer on tap, which was so good the wife and I both had a pint and got a crowler. Most beers at the store are sold for consumption on spot, but some can be purchased to take home in Crowlers, Bullets, or Growlers.
Now, enough about the beer..the pizza...where to even begin. Every part of the pizza was delicious. My wife and I got two separate pizzas, as the only size they serve is a kind of 'slightly bigger than personal' (I think ~8 inch) and finished them both there, even though we intended to have left overs. The peach cobbler dessert pizza was delicious as well.
Lastly, the staff and general vibe. Our waitress was awesome! Sadly I don't remember her name (glasses, dark curly hair, dark eyeliner) but she went out of her way to make recommendations without feeling like she was pushing a sale. She knew her beers, pairings, and was just sweet and helpful the whole time. This bar has charm and feels like something the world could use more of. We will be...
Read more$20 for a margarita and a 12 inch pizza. Menu section was very weak with only a dozen pizzas, salads, chicken sala, 3 total desserts to order. Not even a drinking menu of available beers on tap. Pizza was nothing to write home about, crust was thin and the crust was cracker like. It's edible, but next time I'd rather have Little Caesars. Margarita was premixed "Rancho La Gloria", but pretty cheap for $4.95 a glass. Service disorganized and not good. My partner and and I watched them parade our pizza because they had no idea where to take it. Server held the pizza inches from another servers face while I assumed she asked where the pizza went before return to the kitchen with the pizza. A decorative napkin is shoved under first slice of pizza, but I think that looks gross 🤢.
Decor might have been the worse. Tables were concrete slabs on 4x4's with pipes for legs that felt terrible to lean on. Everything was covered in rust for some reason. Starting at the door handle to the pipe table legs to the bathroom stalls to the salt shaker, if there was silverware, I'm sure it would have been covered...
Read moreI just had lunch here and I am very glad that I did! I am in town from out of state to visit family and I stopped in hoping for something decent for lunch. It was so nice to have the good ol' southern, friendly staff to talk to... it's been a while! My server was Laurie and she was super sweet and very attentive! If I make it back during my trip to town, I'll definitely ask for a table in her section! I have to say (and I really hope the owners/managers of the restaurant read this!) it is GREAT to hear your staff members talking happily amongst themselves. So often restaurant staff (at other locations) are talking about guests and other staff membersand forget that guests can hear them and the whole experience at the establishment is ruined (and honestly, no one wants to hear that when they are paying for a trip out to eat). There is something very good to be said about happy staff!! Kudos to the staff and the management! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this restaurant. The food definitely was really good, but the...
