El Caballo — Restaurant in Sylvania

19 Oct ‘25 2:25 pm. Arrive right on time for my to go order. 10 minutes later I receive my order. Steak fajita add fresh sliced jalapeno, rice, beans, salad, chips, salsa. $16.99 + tax + tip + service fee, $21.71 total for one person. The “steak” was the toughest meat I’ve ever tried to eat, full of fat and gristle, could not chew it and it had zero jalapeno. The onions and green peppers were completely raw. The beans were the best part of the meal. The rice was tasteless. The salad was ok. Chips were warm and crispy. Salsa was good. I stop here for take out every time I pass through Sylvania but no more. Sometimey it’s good and sometimey it’s not.

12 Oct ‘25 lunchtime. 4 stars. Ordered lunch #6. Chimichanga (crispy) add fresh jalapeno, rice, beans, salad. Received chips and salsa too. The salsa was outstanding and the chips were warm and crispy. The chimichanga wasn’t crispy but it was delicious all the same. The beans and rice were yummy. All at a fair price. Friendly service too.

17 May’25 4 Stars. ordered lunch #3. 2 tacos and a cheese quesadilla. The quesadilla was very good, hot and crispy, a little salty just the way I like it. The tacos were greasy and tasteless, fell apart when I picked it up. The shells were saturated in grease. Had lettuce and cheese on them. No flavor very bland. The chips were fresh and warm and the salsa was excellent. ...

We visited from out of town, passing through the area for work. First of all, the staff is stellar! They were so kind and attentive. They even helped some elderly customers in the door, just a really professional and caring crew. The food was yummy. We had lunch, ordered from the menu. I had the El Burro, and it was a huge portion and delicious. My companion had nachos with chicken, and it was also quite good. Refills of drinks and chips were quick. The restaurant design inside is also really neat. Parking is okay for the restaurant size, but it gets busy at lunchtime, so the lot overfills some. Overall, the vibes and food were a 💯. Definitely will return when working...

We had the buffet it was not what I expected but it was decent. There was no steak or shrimp to choose from which was very disappointing considering it was Mexican food and they are famous for Texano,which includes steak or shrimp. The service was Amazing and the Staff Supurb! . We tipped them generously. Parking is limited and the booths were a tight fit. We had to have our waiter adjust the entire booth so we could comfortably sit. I would give them a 5/10. And yes I would visit them Again. Just not as often as I would like due to the items that were not...
