BT Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Tacoma

I really wanted to like this place but sadly did not like it and don’t plan on going back. The service was below average and the food wasn’t too tasty. When we first walked in we saw the boy was busy so we waited and we said “dinner for 2” he quickly seated us and gave us our menues. However, he took forever to take my order.

After looking at he menu for 2 minutes he asked if I was ready to order... uh, no pal, I just opened it and didn’t show any sign that I was ready to order. Then I said “no not yet, maybe 5 more minutes”. He must’ve set a timer for 5 minutes because I stacked mine and my boyfriends menu hoping he would notice we were ready to order, started using my phone, and asked my boyfriend loudly if he’s Ready to order... and the boy still didn’t take our order. My boyfriend had to ask him to take our order, hows that for customer service?

And for the food.... we ordered crab wontons, chicken pad Thai, and mango sticky rice. The crab wontons should be renamed to cream cheese wontons because there is nothing but CREAM CHEESE. I feel like I wasted my money on that because there was no crab at all. The chicken pad Thai was alright, it was really saucy which I’m not used to but I didn’t really like it. And it had some weird looking things in there like chicken fat maybe? Not sure. The thing only thing I found good was the mango sticky rice. So, I recommend...

So I usually come here for lunch because my job is in the same plaza as this restaurant never had a problem with them. Before I’m a regular I always get order the same thing and it’s good.Yesterday The new girl that works here . I forgot my debit card so I cancelled my order and I waited in the lobby for my Uber which was 7 minutes down the street. She comes up to me and tells me I have to leave because a lot of people were coming and I can’t sit in the lobby because I haven’t bought anything. I asked her what does mean I come here all the time to buy lunch and my ride is down the street. I ask to speak to a manager she says ones not available. I ask when will the manager be avalible she said she didn’t then she says she’ll call the manager over the phone. She calls the manager starts talking in a different launguage.Then a few minutes later she goes oh your ok cause my manger says you come here all the time . And explains how some people came in the past to sit in the lobby and try to steal. I was offended and I felt like she profiles me and I will never spend a cent with this restaurant ever again ! I’ll be sure to tell my co workers how I was treated to so they won’t...

The first time I came here, it was amazing.

Second time, not so much. All of a sudden, the portions got smaller and the food didn't taste as good.

Their crab wontons are amazing though. Highly suggest it.

Authentic Laos style foods as well even though they're Thai...

Prices are very good for their food items.

Portions were really big and I'm not sure what changed. Maybe it was because I was alone this time?

Place is clean and tidy.

Wait time: First time the wait was nonexistent, second time it took over 40 minutes, third time, 30 minutes for 2 entrees and an empty restaurant. So I guess it varies :/

Will definitely be back though. And I recommend it to anyone searching for authentic and good food. Would not recommend the mussel stir fry with eggs though. That was icky in my opinion but everything else I've had...
