We used to love this place! We took a couple months break as our previous visit was not good. Tonight was our anniversary. We both worked late so we decided to give it another try ( we used to eat her 2 to 3xs week). I called our order in, he picked it up... To our surprise, our meals were even WORSE than the lady bad experience! My pollo burrito was extremely dry and maybe 1 lousy tablespoon of chicken,, i showed my spouse as he could see my frustration, he showed me his carne asada burrito......WHERE IS THE MEAT????? I ordered an order of chips and salsa, I got the chips, but no salsa.. I had also ordered 2 sides of beans and 1 side rice. Rice =Dry , beans were placed in the bag sideways oozing out of the styrofoam containers. I had looked at the menu online my husband wanted tacos also. I asked the girl on the phone what the cost was for 4 tacos, she said 4.99 I was seeing if tge menu was correct. When I looked at the receipt, he was charged 6.99.. I tried to call but of course y they were closed ( that may explain lack of meat , not wanting to prepare more. ). Our bill was 34.80 and all were could choke down we tge rice and beans inside or rubber shells. If I'd known there were ample amounts id been in burrito I would not have ordered sides. The rest was rice and bean . The flour tortillas were hard and rubbery on both meals . lways BOMB!! I wil cal again tomorrow but I won't be continuing supporting bad business. And horrid food. 3rd time here this last 3 weeks....

This place was terrible from jump Street I had called in a to go order. Which was supposed to be ready in 20 minutes. Then I got stuck in traffic for 40 minutes so I tried to call once it was about 15 minutes in the phone kept ringing and ringing no one would answer. So when I finally showed up to the location 20 minutes late I asked Lee if she minded remaking the food because it had been sitting there for so long that it was no longer fresh she looked at me funny like she didn't understand English. Although I'm sure she did and then she just continue to ring me up. So I just paid for the food and figured well I'll just heat it up. It can't be that bad right? Oh how I was wrong! It was terrible and I mean terrible. The most disgusting meal I've had in a while. So soggy so gross it might have been good if it was fresh MAYBE. But the fact that they let it sit there that long like that. Then try to still sell it to me and at such a high price of $28 for the whole thing. Which was only a thing of taquitos by the way. So I was very taken back by this. I feel like I got scammed by them big time. And I would not go...

I ordered the Asada y Mojo which it's grill butterflied skirt steak and butter garlic shrimp with mushrooms and onions. It usually comes with rice and beans but I asked for extra beans instead of rice. This dish was awesome and the portions were good! The beans were delicious, they probably refried the beans with lard. Yeah!! That's the way to go. I also ordered the 4 taco plate and I got 2 carne asada, 1 lengua and 1 birria. The asada tacos and the lengua taco were decent but the birria was below average and I could taste cinnamon in it! Really cinnamon! That's a big No, No! I don't care who told you or where you read it but cinnamon doesn't belong in birria. That's why I gave them 4 stars. I grew up in Mexico City until I was 16 my mom and my aunt taught me how to cook when I was 12 years old then I moved to California and I started working at a Mexican restaurant where I became the Kitchen Manager so I'm a...

El Grande is one of my favorite places in Tacoma. I can remember when it was an old service station with a taco bus parked outside. These people did a lot of work, and transformed it into a really comfortable spot to get some of the best Mexican food in Tacoma. I've tried a lot of the items on the menu, they've all been good, but I always go back to the tacos - You Can't Go Wrong With The Tacos, I usually order the carnitas tacos, the carnitas are about as good as what you would get in Mexico. The people who work here are always courteous and efficient. The only negatives are the salsas are good, just not great, and you have to use the restrooms on the side of the building (ask for the key) just like you would at a gas station - like it used to be!

This may be the best mom and pop place for legit Mexican food we have ever had. The carne asada tacos were delicious. The beans were not overly watery like some and had lots of flavor. The quesabirria was good without even having to use the consomme. The salsa bar was filled with flavorful, spicy, and delicious salsa. The creamy avocado one was my favorite but the chunky was spicy and full of veggies. There are quite a few tables if you want to eat inside or they package it to go. Staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. This won't be our only visit to this place while we are in town!

This restaurant is CLEAN! so immaculate! The food was great- we had carnitas, pollo, and carne asada tacos. The beans and rice were exceptional- I find most underseasoned, but these were SO good! Staff was super kind, ordering was fast and easy. One of the best carne asada tacos I’ve ever had- SO juicy and d flavorful, no tough or dry bits at all! Oh, and the creamy green spicy salsa is reason enough to go back. Yum!
