Park Avenue Tavern — Restaurant in Tacoma

I haven't actually stepped foot in this bar, but I would like to share my horrible experience with the man that seems to be the owner of this bar.. My husband & I were on our way to work this morning a little after 5am & my husband was pulling up his gps, so he took the next turn down the alleyway that just happens to run behind this bar. He slowly came to a stop right behind the truck that was parked, the person in the truck honked his horn, so my husband pulled out of his way thinking he was trying to get out, but the truck never moved. Instead a little bald headed man in a seahawks hoodie comes walking up taking pictures of our license plate & says "it's 5 o'clock in the morning get lost" mind you my husband is just getting the directions to our job location pulled up on the gps, neither of us were out of our vehicle & we definitely weren't doing anything suspicious at all! I don't wanna pull the "race card" but did this man (employee or owner of the bar) act this way towards us because my husband is black & in his 30's?! Who knows?! But whatever his reasoning was, he was wrong!! & needless to say, I'm giving this bar 1 star (would be 0 if it was an option) because of the way this man treated us for just simply stopping behind his bar for a few minutes! So, so wrong & completely...

Nice place to hang out when feeling low key, but don't want to spend your night at home. Savannah, the bartender will make you an awesome (strong) drink, is caring for those that go overboard, and gets to know her clientele by first name. You don't find balance of professionalism and overall kindness in this day and age that you do in her. It's local, it's priced very reasonably, has good tunes, and the people are friendly and down-to-earth. The only improvement I'd suggest would be a pool table, but where to put it is the debacle. .y wife was shopping at the mall and I needed a place nearbyish to hang for a while. This little establishment met the bill. As I sat down I was greeted by my bartender Travis who introduced himself. From the getgo I felt welcomed by all in the building. I had a delicious poll dog and enjoyed beers and a shot. They have pulltab and lottery. You can even win 5onces of silver if you are lucky. TVs on sports with great conversations around....
