Marble Hill Tavern — Restaurant in Talking Rock

We came with some friends last night, and I will say the restaurant itself is very nice. Although, I was rather disappointed with the food. Everyone’s burgers were soaked with grease, and the pork chop was so tough you couldn’t even chew it. Our server was a little off putting as well. We ordered fried pickles, and she ended up bringing us two orders of them when we only ordered one. When we didn’t touch the second order she hounded us on eating them because she brought them to us?? They weren’t all that great either. My kid got a waffle, and the entire thing was covered in whip cream. Is that normal? If so, next time I know to ask for it on the side for him. The waffle was cold as well. We saw our serve maybe once the entire time we were there, and we were literally one of 4 tables in the restaurant. I know it’s new, so we will definitely try it again. I think there’s good...

We had dinner here Saturday evening and really enjoyed it. There was live music playing and SEC football games on the large screen TVs. The place had great energy and a fun atmosphere. It was pretty crowded, but we were seated immediately. The waitress was very friendly and welcoming. Lots of great menu items to choose from. We had the Fish and Chips, Buffalo Chicken Wrap and Grilled Chicken Sandwich. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time and everything turned out very good. Special thanks to accommodating allergies and the choice of cooking oils- olive oil & canola! We have a member of our party allergic to soybean oil, so she was thrilled to be able to eat the shoestring fries. We will definitely be eating...

I didn’t expect much due to this being a small town but thankfully I was wrong. The fish and chips were outstanding. The fish batter was crunchy while the fish reminded perfectly cooked and moist. The tartar sauce was also delicious and a great accompaniment to the fish and shoestring fries. Our waitress Kristen was awesome as well and made great recommendations.
