I have been there several times & enjoyed it every time. However, I am very disappointed with the service that myself & the rest of my party received recently. I am a waitress myself so I understand that it can be overwhelming & no so easy to get drinks "on demand" & satisfy everyone, but not to even get checked on & overlooked when you are a party of 10 plus is a bit ridiculous. Not to mention that she, the waitress who never gave her name, ran my card after she was given cash plus a more than generous tip that she truly didn't deserve (I'm hoping she was just having a bad night, we all have them), because she then took my charged cc receipt to someone else to sign forgetting we were all together & I was completely sober. Thankfully the bartender handled the most important thing, my cc being charged (maybe the waitress didn't realize that is theft no matter what way you look at it or felt that we had flagged her down so many times that she deserved to charge & do whatever she wanted, because we obviously ruined her night by being there), & for that I am so greatly appreciative. However to the waitress that thought she would get paid twice after being tipped well more than already deserved, shame on you! It is bad enough that you gave terrible service, you should've tipped me for helping you! But charging my card after being paid & tipped with cash is completely disgusting & pathetic, there is no excuse & that is not o.k.. I truly hope that you were just having an "off" night & your judgement wasn't on point and you are really a decent person. Minus this incident -I do enjoy going to Pockets. Plenty of seating for those that want to just have a drink & chill but also plenty of pool tables & other activities for those that like to compete & drink. The food is good, reasonably priced with different items to choose from. Most importantly, I love the DJ, music has been on point every time, definitely mixes it up to make everyone happy which I truly believe that is a very hard thing to do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHeard great things about this bar so I decided to see what the hype was about and play some pool and grab a few drinks for my birthday. Arrived around 9 to avoid the crowd. Upon entrance the counter girl couldnāt figure out how to work the ID scanner and then said āitās just gonna be $10 for a cover for you three tonightā. We thought a $10 cover each was kind of crazy considering itās not a club, there was no live music or DJ, and there were only maybe 15 other people in the building. I would also like to mention how they ask for a tip after charging cover. We decided not to let the front door bother us and made our way to the bar. There were signs everywhere about an 18% gratuity for every check after 9. Now I would understand charging gratuity if there were large parties but for each individual ticket and asking for a tip is just too much. Iām a generous tipper but I have an issue when it comes to forcing it upon me. Moving on pool is $14 an hour which is pretty good but the girls at the counter were kinda rude. They took an ID and card to keep our tab. We played the hour and brought everything up front just for them to hold our card and ID hostage because they couldnāt figure out our table after we told them we only played for an hour and didnāt order anything. They then asked if the card was real and if the ID was real. It clearly looked like one of us and they were handed over together so why canāt the card be swiped and we have our belongings back. After standing around we finally got them back and once again they asked for a tip. My tip for you is to work effectively. Know your job and the crowd especially when itās only 10:00 and the nightlife crowd hasnāt even come through yet. Side note: the bartender was very knowledgeable and friendly. He was the best part of the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOkay letās talk. Iām currently sitting on the back porch at Pockets getting ready to call my Life Insurance leads. I ordered a delicious Tokyo tea and I have a cheeseburger on the way. Then I realized it. I really do love this place.
This is my daytime hideout. My any day getaway. And I just realized it.
Now at night time, I donāt feel like I fit in sometimes because everyone looks like the coolest person in town compared to my laidback style but during the daytime, this is where I want to be. For years yall. Iāve done homework. Iāve taken my Dad here when he visited me from Florida. My siblings and I have come here to hang when theyāre in town as well. For years, this is where I came for karaoke every Tuesday and Thursday. And this is where, I first had the chance to feel like a superstar.
Even in Sharkys! Iāve been on stage during one of the open mics events they hosted and even though I didnāt win, I felt welcome!
In other words, I just realized, Iāve loved this place for a very very long time and if Pocketsās never existed, I donāt know if Iād be the same person I am today. Iāve faced so many fears here.
Bro I remember coming on a Saturday night when I was a student and being so overwhelmed, I sat on the only open seat I could find by the bathrooms until someone walking out accidentally knocked the table and spilled my drink! Looking back now, all I can do is laugh.
Thank God for Pockets Pool & Pub....
