The sushi was pretty good, but the service sucks. Our waitress was very inattentive and we felt kind of ignored. When we got to the restaurant they were not busy and we were seated quickly, when we asked our waitress for a few minutes to look over the menu she said no problem - but then did not return for a really long time… once our sushi came out the sushi chef had made a mistake in including cream cheese on a roll that was not supposed to have any on it - this wouldn’t have been a big deal had our waitress come back to check on us but she didn’t…..my husband sat with a plate of sushi in front of him that he wasn’t going to eat for a good 20 minutes….the owner of the restaurant made a comment about our table having an issue to our waitress….and she chose to go greet other tables, grab other tables orders and do everything OTHER than coming to our table….thankfully the sushi chef noticed there was an issue and proceeded to remake my husbands sushi after speaking to him… our waitress went up to the sushi bar and looked very confused that we had another sushi order and my husband had to explain to her that the sushi chef had remade his food and told her he was going to eat his sushi quickly because we had been there for a long time…she leaves the check on our table and walks away - my husband walked up front to pay, making eye contact with our waitress - who quickly looked away and walked the other way to busy herself with something else. Everyone has an off night but this the 3rd time we come in and have this kind of service from THE SAME waitress…. We were closed out by another waitress and left…. not sure if I’ll be back - maybe I’ll just order to...
Read moreMe and a friend literally just left here. When we sat down, the waitress only took my friends order as if I was not sitting right next to her at the table as a customer waiting to be served. The waitress never took my order. An emergency came up, so we had to leave before the cook started so we let the waitress know we wanted our food to go. She still never took my order. As we were waiting a lady who works at the front desk let us know we could wait at the front for our to go order. I let her know the waitress did not take my order and she said she would take it at the front desk. Finally getting food yay! Right? WRONG. The front desk lady snatched the menu out of my hand as I was closing it to move to the front of the restaurant and once again, my order was never taken. TWICE I said something. She even pulled up my friends order at the desk letting her know hers was in and being cooked and then walked off. When my friends food was ready, the front desk lady let me know and I told her she could leave it at the counter until my friend returns she then says to me”well it’s ready!” Bags it, and sits it on a bench with strangers/customers that are waiting to be sat. This was going to be my first time trying Mori’s and I will definitely...
Read moreWell now we have found the best Japanese hibachi grill steakhouse in Tallahassee. We have always been to Kiku or Osaka before and I loved their hibachi salmon which is why I had never tried Sado Mori before, because I didn't see salmon on their online menu. But a friend visiting from out of state suggested it and so we went at 4:00. I do wish they were open for lunch because we like to eat between 2:00 and 3:00. Nonetheless the food was very very good, we had filet mignon, lobster, scallops, shrimp, and appetizers. The lobster was the best I've ever had in my entire life, and the fried rice is the very same fried rice that I fell in love with years ago and is far superior to the previously mentioned Japanese restaurants. As a matter of fact I usually don't eat the rice or the vegetables at Kiku or Osaka because they are just not good. Only one suggestion is, the waiter really should know more about the menu. I wanted to know if they serve bay scallops or the large scallops and he didn't know because he doesn't eat seafood because it makes him sick to his stomach. TMI, I don't need to know that... if you work as a server you need to know what's on the menu because people do have...
