Well they have raised their prices since they opened up on their Cuban sandwiches $7 for a medium Cuban that has no salami in it of course I know real Cuban sandwiches don't come with salami but the way it's made in Tampa normally it does that was the Italians who added it to it but there also was barely any meat in it even if it did have the salami had two slices of boiled ham which it should be baked ham instead of boiled ham very little roast pork in it and that's about it when I came to the meat for $7 in change you got mostly was two big pieces of Cuban bread when you dip into your sandwich you got bread and bread when you tasted it no I would not go there anymore I used to go there I know they sold it and then the people they sold it to didn't want it and so they had to take it back so I don't know if he's trying to make up for the money he lost but before sandwiches were good and there were not as expensive and now or sandwiches are very expensive and they're not very good no I would not go back there again and it's only about two three blocks from my house which makes it very convenient and as far as the Cuban I mean Cuban coffee and it is not very good at all either that's pretty hard to mess up Cuban coffee but I guess they have found a way to do it so I guess I would rate my visit there and I've gone there many a times too many to even remember or count and all I can say that it used to be a very good place to go eat there it had been closed for about four or five months and they reopened again and I don't know why they change things but it really isn't worth your time your trouble and definitely not your money I would not suggest or recommend going there anymore that is my personal opinion and that's all I can say I am the Spanish is Hispanic and mostly Cuban I know what a good Cuban sandwiches taste like and believe me it's not like the one they're selling now try it for yourself and let yourself to your own judge me be the judge of it but I don't think you'll be going back after you try it unless you and then again you're not Hispanic and you really don't know what a good Cuban sandwiches like you might enjoy it well I have a good day and that's not all I can say about this place it's not what...
Read moreI am currently sitting here and I am wishing we went somewhere else to eat. The pancakes are an absolute joke. They're precooked frozen kid size pancakes. The hash browns are also precooked frozen and seeping in grease. Another thing that is previously frozen and cooked is their bacon. They use foam plates and plastic utensils. The service is unorganized. Awful food but good coffee although served with way too much milk, you're going have to ask for a separate cup to be able to enjoy. Save your money and go else where.
Review after going to pay: I gave my ticket to the lady who then asked me how was the food. She saw I was upset and said I'll go get Isabel(I do think know who that is) she then proceeded to tell me the person in charge did not want to talk to me. Another lady came toward me and said I'm sorry but that is the type of food we sell here, you put the bacon and pancakes I the microwave. Which then as a customer made me even more upset so I asked her is that the same food you cook at home? I told her if I go out to eat it's to eat fresh food not precooked frozen food. She then said I am so embarrassed that you can notice we microwave food here this is not authentic cuban food she said if this was my restaurant things would be different but it's not. My bill came out to $39.xx for food we didn't touch. She said as a courtesy she would take off $10 since the one in charge didn't want to show face. So I'm now out $29.xx, livid and still hungry. Also i asked if there was a bathroom and they told me its not working. After this review I am going to contact the health department this has to be in...
Read moreVery disappointed in Aguila. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Tampa, now they own the title of worst service in the area. The food is the only reason they still get 2 stars. This place used to have a good little operation going a few years ago and they have tried to do too much and it is really driving them into the ground. Remodel, pickup window, open Sundays, additional parking, all does not matter if your service is terrible... The hispanic lady with the blonde hair has to be one of the rudest servers I have ever dealt with. Does not say hello, does not check on you, gets orders wrong and just gives off a nasty vibe that fills the restaurant. Not sure how this person still has a job. Always out of Coke Zero, they have 5 almost empty hot sauce bottles for the entire restaurant. When I asked for some, a server searched the other tables and in the back for 5 minutes without any luck. Finally brought a few to-go containers with hardly any sauce. Where is the preparation, where is the management? Not at Aguila. Used to be a smooth operation, now it is a confused trainwreck. Maybe Adam Richman needs to return to show them how to treat customers and run a business. Been going there for years and yesterday was my last visit....
