Origami Sushi — Restaurant in Tampa

I want to give this place 5 stars but I also want you to know that I am a real reviewer who takes this action seriously. It's a great sushi shop, Otigami. They held a very traditional approach to the menu and to the food they serve and I totally respect that period when we had walk in service, everything had an incredible look - they took pride in the art of presentation and flavor combinations. With curbside pick up, I see they respect my health and their own staff welfare and I wanna come here more often. When I ordered the Volcano roll, the flavor was on spot but I'm used to it having crab tumbling down a mound of sushi pieces as though it were Volcano lava.... They have a different style and I missed the old style. Spicy tuna hand roll was on spot and I would encourage anyone who loves food to taste their avocado bomb... It comes with 2 pieces but you should order to if you plan to share because they really are tasty. If you're coming from the West, past the plaza and turn it the light where there is the Wendy's in come in the side of the shopping center. It makes getting in-and-out so much easier. I look forward to a time when I can sit in this restaurant again and enjoy the beauty of their food, But until then, I will eat it at home tash I'm always too hungry to take the time to set up my plate like they would - perhaps they could set up a video on YouTube that encourages us to do that as specially menu item... A decorative sauces in a small Container and I can apply them like they do in the restaurant to my own plates.... It is true that presentation makes a big difference but the flavor of sushi and my friends eating a with me make it so that it's still a special treat without the ambience of this slice of culture offering table service. I'm going to come back soon and try other menu items, But I usually stick to a few select choices to satisfy cravings. They also do a good fried rice...

I ordered 2 rolls without rice... when I picked it up it seemed ok but when I started eating I started finding rice, it was very obvious that the rice was only used to seal the roll but I was very very clear about no rice and even called to ask if this was possible and was told yes. I ended up having to pick all the rice out because I cannot eat rice at due to possible allergies. I still called to let them know but the manager was extremely rude and would not allow me to speak, he kept going over me and kept saying it was just a little bit in order to seal the roll to what I kept trying to respond that is a costumer requests an ingredient to NOT be used then it shouldn’t be used at all, when there is a food allergy a little is enough to have a reaction. I would have perfectly understood if the roll wouldn’t be perfectly sealed since I requested no rice. Everyone makes mistakes and because of this I called to give them the opportunity to make it up as I was unable to eat my food due to the presence of rice but he kept justifying the reason of it being used rather that fixing the issue and making me a new meal for me to come pick up. I order sushi NO rice every where I go and this has been the first time I have had this issue, he kept saying everywhere I go it would be the same but he was very wrong. The front worker the old man is always so unhappy and rude when I go there. I went to order, he got my order wrong, he charged me for two meals after I asked for chicken in my rice in my origami chicken meal. he gave me a origami chicken meal with a additional meal of rice and chicken mixed. I went back I even apologized we were miss understood and he said well that’s what you asked for passive aggressive as hell he snatched the bag and ripped it aggressively he then threw the utensils roughly across to the bin from the bag he separated the meals and he misplaced the correct order I told him I was fine with the second order because it was closest to him i just wanted it leave quickly, he thought I meant both the meals and said I won’t get anything for free and didn’t even give a chance to listen to me while he rushed moving and opening other orders near him looking for my first meal. he gave me my food I said thank you he ignored me, I asked for a manager because I wanted to speak about him throwing things and being rude he said he was the manager I told him his service sucks and he shouldn’t treat people that way and he said he didn’t have time for me and brushed me off I walked out and said he sucks d I was pissed at that point he was nothing but rude I walked out and back in because I didn’t even want to eat anymore I went back for my refund and he said something that made me go off and I started taking shi and I crashed out I shouldn’t have but I respect everyone till they...
