Big Mel's Smoke House BBQ — Restaurant in Tampa

We had family visiting us and decided to try Big Mel’s for feeding our crowd. I called morning of and ask if they had enough pulled pork. Big Mel himself answered and told me he would check and call back. He called me back shortly and told me what he had and asked when I would need it. He had it ready for us. When I pulled up to the trailer with the smoker going full steam, I knew I had made a solid choice. Big Mel came out to greet us and I felt like I could immediately trust this man. I was blown away by the value and service we received. I felt like family. He wouldn’t even let me tip him and before we pulled out he stopped me to give me more food. I’m glad he did cause that BBQ chicken was the best I’ve ever had. We got about 10 lbs of pulled pork and he threw in sauce to go with it. This man knows what he is doing both with BBQ and customer service. Will definitely go back and will recommend others to do the same. He doesn’t have buns for sale, though I think he is considering adding some so just plan to have those in hand if you’re making pulled...

Wow! welcome to FL style barbecue. Mel puts his heart and soul into every succulent bite. You can taste that the ribs are properly prepared with the right amount of trimming done to preserve the flavor without being greasy. meat was tender smoky and pulled from the bone easily. Mel, you have somehow made the BEST ribs I’ve ever had! I grew up close to Memphis, and experienced the worlds best barbecue during Memphis in May - World BBQ Championship. Your pork ribs sir are finer than any I’ve ever tasted in Memphis or anywhere in between far and wide. The ribs are tender, falling off the bone, yet, there is that subtle tangy moist crust holding all of the goodness together. The Mac and cheese is amazing as is the potato salad.
