I came here from NC for my 26th birthday with my husband. After looking at the reviews and photos I thought my mind would be blown. Upon arrival we seated ourselves per the sign at the desk. My husband and I both ordered their signature french toast with a side of scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries, and toast. I ordered a coffee and he ordered orange juice. The coffee was not good at all but after drinking all of it I never received a refill or was asked about ordering another drink. The french toast was to come with strawberries, almonds, bananas, and some type of cream cheese spread. My husband asked for NO strawberries and I asked for NO bananas or almonds. After about 5 mins of trying to convince the waitress that almonds came with the meal my husband had to pick up the menu and show her that almonds were definitely on the menu. We finally ordered our food. We waited for about 10 minutes and the waitress brought out the sides (minus the toast) and my husband’s french toast. The french toast had strawberries on it of course so he informed the waitress once more. She took the plate back to the kitchen picked off the strawberries and brought him back the food. After waiting another 10 mins and finishing the side dishes, I realized that the waitress had not come back with my French Toast. Annoyed and ready to leave, I attempted to wave down a different waitress saying “excuse me ma’am” several times to inform her of the trouble we were having with ordering. I noticed that she avoided eye contact with me until she had to wait on two older white ladies seated directly in front of us. When I finally got her attention, she looked at me and said “ill be right with you in a minute” went back into the kitchen, and came to our table. I informed her of all of the trouble ordering with our waitress. She told us that she would speak with our waitress to try and clear things up. Our waitress comes back to our table and asks “what is the issue?”. I informed her that I never received my french toast. She replies “oh so you want to order something else?”. I say “no...I just want my french toast with no bananas and no almonds that I already ordered.” She gave me a puzzled look so I asked her for the menu again. She brings back the menu and I used it to point and remind her that my husband and i ordered the same meal. I pointed to the side dishes and also informed her that we never received the toast as well as my french toast. She takes my order again comes back in about 5 mins with the the french toast and regular toast. The service was terrible and the food...
Read moreI'm wondering if some of the positive reviews were paid. I came here based off of the positive reviews. I had just flew into Tampa to attend a funeral and was looking for breakfast. Read the positive reviews and came. I almost turned around when I saw how shabby the outside was. I thought to myself "oh go in, some of the best food are in dives." The place has a weird mouldy smell. There was only 1 customer when I arrived. I ordered the special which was eggs with grits or homefries and meat. The choices were bacon, sausage or ham. I don't eat pork so I asked if any of the choices were nonpork. She (Kim the waitess - per name on my receipt) said the sausage was turkey. I ordered and found the scrambled eggs which I had ordered soft were hard and rubbery. The toast was hard. The grits were the only good thing. I inquired about the homefries and the waitress kindly offered to let me sample some. Initially the waitress had been friendly. The home fries were very nasty. I asked for the check and the waitress seeing how much food I had left on my plate asked was I still working on it. I told her I was full (didnt want to let her know I didnt like the food). When she handed me the check, not only had she charged me a different price than what was on the menu but she also charged me for the turkey sausage. When I told her the pricing wasnt what was reflected on the menu, the nice act went away and she raised her voice (by this a few more customers had come in) and said "its always been this way." To which I said that doesnt excuse deceptive advertising. You have to charge the prices on your menu and if turkey sausage is a premium and costs more that should be reflected in your menu. The customer needs to be put on notice as to what your prices are. You dont get to just make it up. This enraged her. I told her I would show her the Florida statute on consumer disclosure regarding deceptive pricing. She said "I dont care what the law says we pay more for turkey so you need to pay more." I told her agreed but that higher pricing needs to be reflected in your menu. I asked her to please issue me a new bill with the correct price (not only was I charged extra for the turkey sausage but I was also charged a higher price for the special). She said she had waited on me before and I had caused her problems last time she waited on me. I was shocked as I had never been to this place before today. I told her so and she told me to leave and not come back. Absolutely horrible food and rude, low class...
Read moreSo i am sitting in brunchery as we speak. When i walked in there is a sign that says please wait to be seated as I stood there for about 5 min a person passing by says you can sit anywhere. I picked a seat , shortly after this same person asked if i wanted coffee I responded yes and she brought coffee and walked away Fast foward I ordered my food and I now know the persons name is Kim , brought me utensils again walking away without a word. Once I looked at the utensils I realized they were dirty. As”KIM” was passing again i asked her can I get some clean utensils. KIM took the utensils out my hand and said “ THEY COME OUT THE DISHWASHER LIKE THAT”. As a paying customer that is NOT the correct answer. At that moment I took a breathe and said well then wash them you dont just give them to a customer. KIM brought me new utensils and I attempted to address her comment and the fact that she was rude because of THEIR dirty spoons and forks that whomever packaged them in the napkin had to see they were dirty. But i digress. she was very dismissive and said “I DONT HAVE TIME FOR YOU COMPLAINING”. Wait what ?? ok now I need the manager to which she responded “I AM THE MANAGER”. And walked away again. Me sitting here feeling VERY DISRESPECTED AND PISSED. I did at that moment decide that i would be canceling my order would never eat here again but WOULD DEFINITELY HAVE A FINAL CONVERSATION WITH “Kim”. Conclusion. I made KIM Aware I needed a moment with her after about 10 min she finally came over. I calmy told KIM I AM A PAYING CUSTOMER AND DID NOT APPRECIATE HER ATTITUDE COMMENT OR TREATMENT THIS MORNING. Kim began to make excuses saying she was short staffed and stresses and that she doesnt usually act in this manner. She also apologized and I said “ I appreciate you apologizing but i feel like had i not sat there and held here accountable she would carry on like nothing happened. NO KIM CHECK YOURSELF OR BE CHECKED. APOLOGY OR NOT I AM CANCELLING MY ORDER. I spend my money where i am appreciated...
