‼️Best Hong Hong BBQ in Tampa Bay‼️ The highlight of 東方城 Evershine Plaza. You used to find me here every Saturday, as soon as they open, for years. Most customers are wanting their amazing dim sum, but I'm just here for the Honey Roast Pork and the Snow Pea Leafs with Garlic. 🫛 It is definitely one of those meals that I would choose as my last, no joke. 💓 You know that red case with beautiful chunks of roasted meat and ducks inside? Well, that's called siu mei 燒味 ( 烧味 ), and China Yuan is one of the last restaurants in Tampa Bay to have it. 🪿 The roast meats here are packed full of flavor. In my opinion way tastier than the meats from the local grocery. The same owners for years, same servers, and consistent quality and flavor keep entire generations coming back for more. Now more popular than ever, during this filming on a Saturday they were packed before 11am for dim sum service. Or even better, come here for their HKBBQ lunch specials on a weekday, served over steaming rice with a few pieces of bok choy. 🥬🍱 🥟 I'm also obsessed with their handmade potstickers on their regular menu in the appetizer section. Packed full of pork and ginger, highly addictive. 🔖SAVE for later 🔖 💞 Follow for more 📸 ALL content by @yummycoty 🐾 NEVER sponsored/hosted ✅️ Yummycoty vibe checked 📍 龍源大酒楼 " China Yuan " , 8502 N Armenia Ave #1a, Tampa, FL 33604 Featured in reel: 1️⃣ 豆苗 Snow Pea Leafs with Garlic - regular menu 2️⃣ 燒賣 Shumai - dim sum 3️⃣ 豉汁蒸排骨 Black Bean Ribs - dim sum 4️⃣ 烧腊 , 燒臘 3 Meat Platter - Hong Kong 燒鴨 Roast duck, 燒肉 crispy skin pork, and 叉燒 red honey roast pork - Why I'm here. I looked this restaurant up on Google and the pictures look pretty good. I ordered the roasted pork fried rice with no veggies. The rice was pretty good but the meat was questionable. I had a very rude waitress older lady with short black hair. She wasn't too nice t and she wasn't very hospitable. Didn't come to the table not one time see if I needed anything refill on water you didn't ask me is everything okay. I asked for my bill she brought my bill. On the menu the price of the fried rice was $10.95 when she brought me my bill the cost of the fried rice was $11.50 I know that isn't much of a difference but don't let me believe that you're charging me one price and then surprise me with another price then the old bat ask me you're not going to leave a tip I said no why would I leave you a tip you did not serve me and then you had me believing that the cost of the item was one price and when you brought the bill out it was higher so next time this is your tip lady next time when a customer looks at the price and doesn't read the little sticker on the front of the menu that says some prices have gone up the money wasn't the issue it was the divisiveness.. I don't think the people at this restaurant like Native Americans because they weren't friendly at all and I won't be going back. Ps. Here's another tip be careful on how you treat certain people it might come back to bite you. One more question if the pork is supposed to be roasted why is it like lily w hite doesn't look too appetizing.

Dropped in as I was on the way through Tampa heading home to St Pete and always in search of finding new, better options for Peking Duck goodness, and China Yuan has Peking Duck on their menu for $60 3pm Saturday, place was empty, not surprising. Staff were attentive. Ordered Peking Duck "2 ways" I'm not sure what came out was Peking Duck. It was more like a hybrid, or the chef forgot what he was making halfway? Loads of meat and duck, with some Peking Duck-style skin in the middle? Huge plate, that's for sure. For a family of 6, it would probably be perfect, but I was solo. Duck was OK - but not Peking Duck in my view, and not $60. They charge $30 I think for roast duck? Perking Duck to me is: #1 Course: Skin Only #2 Course: Duck Fried Rice or Similar dish. The 2nd Way part was new to me; it consisted of a bunch of bones, albeit very well-seasoned and tasty, but with almost no meat at all. Im going to make soup out of them at home. The Meat had already been served in course #1.... So, again, not Peking Duck. This was roast duck hacked? Hard to say. Got Shrimp Fried Rice to, nothing special, at all, bland really. Overall, it was OK - I'd go back but not for the duck. Nice enough staff. Better option - Ha Long Bay Restaurant near my place in St Pete. Peking Duck is REAL Peking Duck and it's NOT $60 its less, check. Corkage is $15 for a wine bottle.

It's interesting to see the vast differences in the reviews depending on the various platforms you go on, but hopefully I can provide a review that unifies the masses.

As a disclaimer, this review covers the dim sum offerings at China Yuan. In short, we came for the dim sum, got our fix for dim sum - it was good and the price was good.

I was recommended this place by my boss actually - who I place an unreasonably high amount of trust in for food recommendations. So we came here on a rainy Saturday, bright and early when it opened - expecting there to be a good amount of traffic into the restaurant. Instead, we found ourselves seated promptly as one of the first couple of guests (drastically different than the cutthroat-linecutting-dim-sum-swashbucklers pace of NYC and New Jersey). That is not to say that this doesn't happen here, but I have yet to witness it.

The dim sum items were ordered off a sheet where you select the item along with the quantity of each. That is correct - there is no berating auntie extorting you to purchase from their push cart as part of the status quo dim sum experience... sorry to disappoint. Instead, you get a pleasant staff that is eager to help and serve. However, I was able to practice some of my Cantonese when ordering dishes.

Each dish, or "tapa" as I like use as a friendly comparison, came out at a decent rate, allowing us to enjoy the previous servings before being surprised by the next one (like how did it get to our table as if we didn't order it ourselves). Some of the dishes were obviously pre-made and frozen, however still held its own when it came to quality and flavor. While the chinese mustard (taste more like horseradish than mustard) came in packets, it was still a great condiment to use.

We were able to enjoy the dim sum experience at our own pace without feeling rushed to get out and make room for others. Needless to say, China Yuan could crown itself as a staple in the...

BAD experience, The cashier and waitress were actually very rude. DISRESPECTful to me, I just wanted to kno what (Cantonese style was), n she refused to answer n walked away several times! I was lookin for typical Chinese dishes like chicken chow mein etc but this was Cantonese style. I asked young couple in next to me what they were eating, it was Peking duck, HUGE PLATTER 54$, too much food for just me!

They HAVE some dishes for 12-15$ but most are like 20$! I ordered chicken feet off dim sum menu, was reasonable 5$( I think),it was good, ordered regular duck 10$( very GREASY),off regular menu. It was still good tho, until …….

I USED THE HOT OIL ON the table, too much went down wrong pipe n I was literally CHOKING )!! Couldn’t breathe! The restaurant staff didn’t do anything, but a kind young gentleman at next table behind me, ( performed Heimlich maneuver ),very 😟 scary moment!

I bought his meal families meal, to say Thanku.

In the end, the waitress had the gumption, to say hope u will come back next time, (after being so rude),n not calling 911( I could’ve died), no air coming in at all!! I will not be goin back. 😐 I They don’t have any basic wonton soup ( shrimp wonton)…8$ too pricy! The restaurant looks ok, bathroom not so much. If u like authentic Cantonese, I’m sure it’s good….. just kno that waitress is 👿 not nice at all! That’s my review, THANKU TO SWEET PERUVIAN FAMILY FOR SAVING MY LIFE☝️ ❤️❤️BY HIS KNOWING HEIMLICH MANEUVER N THE LADY ALSO VERY SWEET N COMFORTED ME AS I WAS SHAKEN UP N IN TEARS( from the...
